Absolute legend. I've had a box at the Hollywood Bowl for the last 17 years. I've seen more bands/people come through there than I can remember at this point. If I made a list of the most memorable performances, she'd be at the top. She was incredible. Played multiple instruments, was engaging, funny, and oh so talented. There was no autotune back then and being famous in music didn't depend on how many followers you had. You had to have talent and a work ethic to make it when she did, and she had both in droves. Don't let the juggs fool you. She was one of the best musicians the world has seen.

She was no slouch as a songwriter either. She recorded 26 songs that hit #1 on the country charts, and she wrote 25 of them.

She was checking every box. Singer, performer, writer. Wouldn't be shocked if she had an incredible net worth. She's was hitting every rev stream possible. Doesn't even account for Dollyworld, movies, and whatever else she had going on.

I can not think of one public figure in my lifetime that was UNIVERSALLY loved by everyone no matter beliefs, religion, interests.

An American treasure who built her Dolly legacy not only as a singer, songwriter and performer but as a sharp businesswomen who always chose the right path and always said just the right thing

She hinted a few times that Whitney made her the most...

One of Shelby’s all-time favorites. Has there ever been a more prominent, universally respected, longtime star re: overall world-wide impact ?

Had 10 siblings in a sharecropper cabin with no electric or plumbing. I was never a country music fan in any substantial way but I appreciate some of the tough people that came up from the hardscrabble regions that were mostly barren for decades.

"The timing of the Stockels' maze, a highlight of their upcoming fall festival, is coincidental and comes nearly two years after owners Tim and Olivia Stockel visited the Dollywood amusement park in Tennessee with The Maize, a Utah-based company that has cut their corn maze every year for more than a decade." I’m not into the fame or financial success. It’s about the songs, music and the person. This is a great tune:
