I love Toyota but have never taken personal pride in global Corolla or RAV4 sales.
I suppose I'm glad the Tacoma is US midsize leader, but only because of the innovation in the always-ballooning aftermarket.
Before this thread existed, I never once in my life knew or cared about how many vehicles of any particular type or brand were sold. I can't imagine why anybody but the people who sell them GAF.
I guess shareholders have an interest, if they're not long-term buy and hold investors. Although I own a fair amount of Tesla stock and I still couldn't care less about how many cars they sell.
I'm a car guy gear-head type. Totally into cars. But I'm into the
driving of cars... into the experience while in the cars. Not sure what label to apply to people who hang on the latest car sales figures. But neither "car guy" nor "gear head" would seem to apply.
Anyway, each to their own.
