Go Elon! Clean that mess up!!! But stay focused on Tesla too.
One thing is for sure. This was not a whimsical move by Elon. He has a plan for Twitter and I would be surprised if he's done accumulating shares.Elon Musk is a real leader - Hopefully he can influence Twitter enough to make their censorship algorithm open source. It should be a true and fair electronic town hall - the "Hunter Biden Laptop" mess should never be allowed to happen again.
Why would any successful social media platform want to release its highly proprietary algorithms to the public by making them open source? Makes no sense.Elon Musk is a real leader - Hopefully he can influence Twitter enough to make their censorship algorithm open source. You asked the thread to keep politics out of here roughly 90 minutes ago then you jumped right back in lol. The best way to do that is to ignore politically slanted posts and keep it moving. Just a thought. I'll go back to researching how to buy an electric UPS golf cart now.Why would any successful social media platform want to release it's highly proprietary algorithms to the public by making them open source? Twitter (and FB and YouTube, etc.) are private companies. They can allow or disallow whatever they want on their platform, just so long as it doesn't run afoul of discrimination laws. And what they're doing is no more censorship than a restaurant owner who posts a sign saying they don't want cursing inside their establishment, and then kicks out anybody violating that rule. Same with the other social media organizations.
The correct response to people not liking how a particular social media company operates itself is for the complainers to open a competing social media company and try to do better. If social media companies are behaving in a way that's problematic for competition, then that would be a problem that should be addressed.
But for government to attempt to dictate what private social media platforms do would be an exercise in socialism - government takeover of private industry. What's next, a government takeover of all media and energy companies?
Well, my advice wasn't heeded and the political posts had started, as predicted. You asked the thread to keep politics out of here roughly 90 minutes ago then you jumped right back in lol. Ford posts record electric vehicle sales. Lightning production begins this month with deliveries starting in May.
Agreed. And if KS does remove his, and if the overly political post that followed it like clockwork is removed by it's poster, then I'll also remove all my posts related back to the Musk/twitter news.Interesting topic, but would appreciate if you can start a new thread.
Wondering if he wants to leverage for advertising? He gets enough free publicity and advertising from Tesla devotees tweeting all sorts of news and updates. Might be a win/win for Musk and Tesla. One thing is for sure. This was not a whimsical move by Elon. He has a plan for Twitter and I would be surprised if he's done accumulating shares.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...these look ridiculous.
Which Religion is Right can respectfully calm down or piss off. So easily triggered. My post was not political (I see you tagged someone else's which I missed). I think Musk has an ulterior/financial motive for this move to perhaps gain some sort of advertising leverage.Agreed. And if KS does remove his, and if the overly political post that followed it like clockwork is removed by it's poster, then I'll also remove all my posts related back to the Musk/twitter news.
It's getting old seeing all the politically motivated posts ruin otherwise good threads on the FB forum. I get that because it's Musk, it's loosely related to electric cars. But in reality, ownership of social media companies isn't very related to electric cars, or automotive tech in general.
You've now made 4 posts in the Electric Vehicles thread bemoaning the politics. You're as much of the problem at this point in this particular thread. Move on already.Agreed. It's not that your post itself was political at all; it's not. It's that it will prompt some CE board folks to become political about it, which always sucks.Which Religion is Right can respectfully calm down or piss off. So easily triggered. None of my posts since the Musk/Twitter post are political in the slightest. And I'll joyously delete all of mine (non of which are actually political) if the others are removed first. That's what I'd personally like to see happen here. You've now made 4 posts in the Electric Vehicles thread bemoaning the politics. 5 posts complaining about the thread being derailed. You have derailed it. Back to electric vehicles, deal?None of my posts since the Musk/Twitter post are political in the slightest. And you're once again posting to the wrong person about the problem. I'm not the person who posted about twitter, nor the person whom made the overtly political post in response to the twitter/musk post.
OTOH, you gave a like to the only overtly political response made to @Knight Shift's post. Which is oddly incongruent with you trying to stop me from speaking out against political posts in this thread. Either we want to make this otherwise great thread political or we don't.
I don't. It appears you do.
You'll surely be the first person I ask when I would like help on deciding how to contribute to the forum.5 posts complaining about the thread being derailed. You have derailed it. Back to electric vehicles, deal?
Deliveries are delayed, but they are getting tons of orders. Ordered my Maverick in October, hoping for delivery in late July or August. They are selling boatloads of F150s and the F150 Lightning, Broncos, Bronco Sports, and Mavericks. Just need more of these stupid chips. Construction has begun on plants here in America for more parts. Probably be 2024 when they open. Can’t wait to get my truck and to see Lightnings arriving next month.Goods news on the Ford EV front, but YOY sales are horrendous. Hopefully, supply chain issues will abate soon.
I gotta think that (tons of orders, but increasingly delayed deliveries) will be pretty common for at least another year, maybe more, across a bunch of automakers. Be nice if demand levels off or drops some, so prices will drop back into a less nutty range.Deliveries are delayed, but they are getting tons of orders. You do not understand Musk. He has routinely expressed deep concern about how and why Twitter censors certain topics. Not widely reported by the financial media, but he bought the largest share in Twitter for one reason- to eliminate the biased and politically motivated censorship that Twitter routinely does. This is only the beginning on his move on Twitter. Sit back and watch. Why would any successful social media platform want to release its highly proprietary algorithms to the public by making them open source? Makes no sense.

Mostly... he doesn't like his tweets being censored. Prob dgaf about anyone elses. You do not understand Musk. He has routinely expressed deep concern about how and why Twitter censors certain topics. You are focused solely on your political bent - that is obvious. I will remember to bump this post when the time is right - Will have the same legs as the "fire Pike" fiasco. BTW Musk has already been put on the board - Doesn't sound too passive to me. He is involved for one reason - to dissect the one sided algorithm. It is going to be fun to watch. And he maybe able to add to his 9 month Model Y waiting list as a bi-product.I will be sitting back but I won't be watching because I don't care.
I use twitter only as an article aggregator for stuff about which I'm interested (e.g. links to automotive website article posts, or certain technology site article posts, etc.). None of my interests or hobbies, and thus none of my twitter feed, contains or attracts any content that would ever be censored. Same with all social media, FB, YouTube, etc.
I predict nothing will change based on Musk's share purchases. Twitter and the other social media platforms will all continue to remove disinformation that originates from bogus accounts, in ever increasing numbers. That such trimming will sometimes interfere with various self-serving narratives by special interest groups or certain individuals is not going to change anything.
But regardless of what happens, change or no change, it won't affect me in any way. So, as stated above, I just don't care.
The hissy fits will be epic! You are focused solely on your political bent - that is obvious. it’ll be so much fun to see him put up more BS polls. Doesn’t a longer waitlist means production issues? You are focused solely on your political bent - that is obvious. That you somehow interpreted what I posted as anything political or evidence of any political lean is pretty funny. If you enjoy hissy fits, then you must be loving all the paranoid whining about social media censorship which is a truly epic, and long running, hissy fit.The hissy fits will be epic!
Kinda like the hissy fits that are still going on about Trump? Welllll, yea.If you enjoy hissy fits, then you must be loving all the paranoid whining about social media censorship which is a truly epic, and long running, hissy fit.
Only in the TSLAQ bubble.it’ll be so much fun to see him put up more BS polls. Doesn’t a longer waitlist means production issues?
I’ve been waiting for 9 months on my ID4 order. Don’t expect deliver for another 3 to 4 months. The only thing that’s keeping me in it is that VW is holding the price at 40k.Only in the TSLAQ bubble.
