Coal was the leader out of the conventional energy sources, comprising over 27% of Germany's electricity.



It's much worse in China and getting "worser." But China is great and the US should kiss their ***.

Don't change the subject. It's all our fault. And China's allowed to build new coal plants until 2030.

I would have liked to see this measure passed and didn't pay much attention. But the power line was to benefit Massachusetts, not Maine. So I guess Mainers felt like Mass residents could eff off.

They have some good reasons...

I like this one:

We can’t trust CMP on climate. Their real record is obstructing progress on clean energy and delaying new solar projects across Maine because CMP doesn’t profit from solar power. CMP and its parent companies make huge profits from building transmission lines.​

I think it came down to this.. Mainers don't like Massholes (especially those who have moved there from the South and changed voting results).. and this project is largely to benefit Massachusetts at the expense of Maine's pristine wilderness.

Have the higher prices that Mass pays for this energy lower energy prices in Maine (and make that permanent) and I think they might strike a deal...

What hand wringing? I prefer to understand the whole picture, including warts, before committing to anything. And where have I said anything bad about moving to EV's? You are trying to extrapolate my hate for the Teslarati to hate for all EV's. You bash the hell out of Trump supporters, but practice the same level of idolatry for Elon Musk. Kind of hypocritical, no?

For those interested about what the infrastructure bill means for EVs and clean energy:

The bill would provide $7.5 billion for zero- and low-emission buses and ferries, aiming to deliver thousands of electric school buses to districts across the country, according to the White House.
Another $7.5 billion would go to building a nationwide network of plug-in electric vehicle chargers, according to the bill text.

And ...

The bill would invest $65 billion to rebuild the electric grid, according to the White House. It calls for building thousands of miles of new power lines and expanding renewable energy, the White House said.

It's a good start. I think we're going to need more that that, but we need to start somewhere.

Figures he'd set the deadline when nobody can buy out of the money puts. Of course if he sells shares received through recent restricted stock vesting or non-qualified option exercises the gains won't be as big as the general public assumes.

Keep in mind he was using that speech to fire up his employees, especially dropping the $250 p/sh number. No better way to motivate than by telling them they could all be rich beyond their wildest dreams.
