80mph top speed does not cut it. That's like average cruising speed on 287.Looks smaller than a Honda Fit, but not a toy car like the Smartcar. If this could actually be sold in America for $14,000, electric vehicles would be available for almost everyone.
Looks like a death trap. Put yourself in something that small and take a ride on the parkway to see your friends at their shore house during the summer and there is a good chance you don't make it there. NO way anyone survives a crash. Beyond that, you can't put anything into it besides a human or 2. This country likes something larger.Looks smaller than a Honda Fit, but not a toy car like the Smartcar. Cute concept, but not as good as a Tesla!
You could say the same thing about a motorcycle.Looks like a death trap. There may be more behind the scenes that led up to this. A lot of companies are dealing with similar issues. Apple is another prominent one. On one hand, there are a lot of CEOs and upper level management types who strongly believe the people should be at work. On the other, there are many mid-level managers and workers who believe (and may have demonstrated) that they can work equally well (or better) from home a couple/few days per week. It's a conundrum, but right now, employees have power because of the labor shortage.Pretty douchy management style.
We have to get people out of bed, back to work and have them be part of society.Pretty douchy management style.
What if they're hookers? Then we need to get them into bed and back to work.We have to get people out of bed, back to work and have them be part of society.
I can't disagree. BUT, are they high class or your run of the mill drugged up slob? What if they're hookers? Then we need to get them into bed and back to work.
I know a guy who owns a classic truck that was talking about it.Have any of you converted your gas truck/car to electric ?

Looks purely JDM.
Tiny cars with no range and speed don't fly here. We already saw that movie with the Mitsubishi i-Miev.

Except this thing is not fast and has only 100 miles of range. You could say the same thing about a motorcycle.
If he did that the "classic" part would be gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I know a guy who owns a classic truck that was talking about it.
Maybe I used improper terminology but it is already customized. Hot rodded out and all. It would sacrifice on that front with a conversion, but it would be taking on a different identity, if you will.If he did that the "classic" part would be gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Little of both. Variety is the spice of life and all.I can't disagree. BUT, are they high class or your run of the mill drugged up slob?
So, heels, nice legs, tight short skirt, button up OR down shirt, busty, nice face with long hair and a crack pipe.Little of both. Variety is the spice of life and all.
LOL. Something like that. Whatever the customer desires. Because at Hookers R Us, the customer always comes first. So, heels, nice legs, tight short skirt, button up OR down shirt, busty, nice face with long hair and a crack pipe.
AND with weed being legal now it makes this whole thing interesting.LOL. Something like that. Whatever the customer desires. Because at Hookers R Us, the customer always comes first.
I wasn't saying this is an alternative to a motorcycle, just that the same criticisms toward its safety can be said for motorcycles.Except this thing is not fast and has only 100 miles of range.

When are the people who are pushing this going to start working on our power grid?
New jobs and unemployment are okay. We have inflation and the stock market is mostly down for the year. Considering everything, the economy is okay at the moment, although who knows what'll happen over the next few years. No more saving the world with electric vehicles, at least if the economy tanks.
Grumpy? He seems to be a realist. Other CEO's have echoed the same sentiments on the economy.New jobs and unemployment are okay. We have inflation and the stock market is mostly down for the year. Meanwhile, I suspect Musk is troubled by TSLA's recent stock performance and his discovery that twitter perhaps wasn't the wisest of decisions for him. Grumpy Musk.
Super bad feeling. LOL
People have been talking about a bad economy pretty much every month of my entire life. Eventually, I realized that most CEO's who bring it up are either making political statements (look at their political affiliations and when they choose to bring it up, remarkably telling pattern there), or they have some other ulterior motive for talking about it - market manipulation or whatever. Or both.Grumpy? He seems to be a realist. Other CEO's have echoed the same sentiments on the economy.
It's a good thing you are not running Tesla. Every month of your life? C'mon.People have been talking about a bad economy pretty much every month of my entire life. It is far more likely that Musk's recent stock dive is a driver here than a bunch of speculation about the economy. The nation has been adding new jobs. And Tesla has no shortage of funds to pay their employees. Tesla could probably add 100000 new jobs to it's workforce and pay them to sit at home doing nothing and STILL be in great shape financially. But their stock would be less healthy, which is probably what drives his comments, along with a desire to hit out at Biden.
The economy is wavering some for lots of reasons. But that's not a valid reason for Musk to shed 100,000 employees. TSLA stock performance might be.
It’s a good thing I’m not running it for it’s shareholders, sure. But it’s be an arguably better thing, at least in the short term, for me to be running it for it’s employees and some folks looking for work. And better for the economy since I wouldn’t be taking actions to exacerbate the very thing I disingenuously predicted as Musk has done. It's a good thing you are not running Tesla. Every month of your life? C'mon.
May always has robust hiring because of summer hiring. Retail tanked in that linked report. Don't want to further derail this thread.
Back to EVs, it will be interesting to see if other automakers are laying off or hiring. First link is behind a paywall. But Ford and GM are hiring. Kia is expanding.
Could it be that Tesla may be feeling pressure from the ramp up of traditional automakers in the EV space?
