Questions for other PHEV owners.
At what level do you add fuel to your gas tank?
# of gas miles remaining or a quarter tank left?
Do you ever fill the tank?
What is your electric/gas mile ratio?

I think we wait to 1/4 or less to file. We fill up. Not sure of miles remaining or electric/gas mile ratio. Wife uses PHEV, for around town, shopping and longer runs. Going to guess about 50/50 electric/gas. Our "MPG" is 55 mpg, which is pretty sweet for a Volvo S60.

I'm thinking fill to half when it's down to quarter tank. I'm running only 17% on gas since June 30th. It's only because I had to use gas to drive to basketball games.

Ram REV is looking good. I thought the 500 miles would require the range extender, but that's just battery with range extended version to follow.

Good centerpiece for the NY show, which seems pretty dull otherwise.

I imagine security cameras in houses are similarly abused by employees at security companies. Many provide control over when shutters can be locked closed, but of course one is relying on the hardware/software from the vendor to comply with the user's defined rules.

It’s old news. Think China banned Tesla at sensitive sites due to their surveillance features.

And make delightful noises to cancel out all the humming from the EVs.

There have been a couple of ferraris and a Lamborghini that rip up and down the road outside my development that sound real nice...

Ferrari and Lamborghini spend a lot of development time on the soundtrack. They know that 90% of the people who buy their cars will never drive them past 7/10ths and are, in reality, buying two things - exclusivity and soundtrack.

There are non-exotics that make great noises. Ford has done a masterful job with the Coyote 5 liter. The V8 in the Jag F-Type is delightful. My BIL has a DB11 Volante that I'll only drive if the top is down because the engine is so freakin' sweet.

OTOH, with all of the time and expense that Chevy put into the C8 the single most common complaint is that it sounds like ****.

Is why God invented aftermarket exhausts.

Aston Martin’s of late do produce some sweet sounds. And Maseratis.

And this is why I keep saying I think government should focus on charging infrastructure rather than EV purchasing when it comes to financial incentives. And why I think it's unlikely that most states, perhaps other than CA, will meet their projected cut-offs for ICE sales.

Make more inroads on public charging and they will come. At least that's my guess. Politicians forcing people w/no home charging capability to buy an EV will not remain in office for long.

I was behind a Kia EV6 (I think it was an EV6) for a bit at some point last week. It looked great from the back and the rear-quarters. The Kia EV9 looks great from the photos I've seen, but range isn't where I'd want it yet.

I keep seeing their cars and thinking that Kia/Hyundai/Genisis designers are killing it - putting out some very nice looking vehicles these days. Was behind a Telluride for a bit earlier this afternoon and had to fight down the urge to head home, call up some dealers, and order one from the first dealer willing to sell it at MSRP.

Versus a Cayenne Turbo which I spent 45 minutes doing different builds for last night. The Cayenne, if I could even find a build allocation, would be roughly 4 times more expensive than the Telluride, and I'd feel compelled to be careful with how I parked it and where I took it. It would have vastly better performance and handling, but that doesn't even make my list of priorities for an SUV. So not sure why I keep thinking of getting one.

****'s crazy right now. I spent some time over the weekend shopping a CPO Macan S. They're all selling for more than they cost new.

There's a 10k upcharge on all new C8 Corvettes. And, like the Macan, all the CPOs are more than new. I saw a few C8 LT2s selling for 100k+ and these cars stickered for 75k two years ago.

The configurator is open for new 7Gen Mustangs and a GT Premium with the 01A pack lists for about 52k. I have zero doubt that getting one at that price would be impossible.

You guys should just go up a level and get a DBX. The dealership by me has plenty of inventory.

It is crazy for sure. I wouldn't pay over MSRP for a new Macan, let alone a used one. But people are paying all these crazy dealer markups and paying over MSRP for used cars.

Which is why Porsche, along with some other manufacturers on certain models, are raising their prices. Because people keep buying them anyway.

Incidentally, I had a guy from a dealership recently tell me that new Macan build allocations could be had at MSRP, possibly even a little lower (lower might mean a demo model or something like that). So if you're really interested, email me and I'll get you the contact info of the person I spoke with about it. Never did business with him, but a phone call can never hurt.

A buddy just got a build allocation for a 718 GTS (Cayman) and is in talks about a Macan. Different dealer, same dealership.

I'm headed to talk w/the guy 'cause he was also the one who also said he'd take a deposit for a GT3 build allocation at MSRP + some "required" dealer-supplied options. Was the only person not adding an ADM to MRSP. Probably gonna put a deposit down to hop on a wait list for it, but rumor is that wait is 4 years at the moment.

They're lovely and sound awesome, too.

The insane markups and super limited availability on 911 GT cars actually has me looking into Aston Martins and Lamborghinis and McLarens.

The Porsche GT cars start in the high 1s but doing a super low-optioned build spec puts even a humble GT3 into the low to mid 2s before ADMs which can push things up into the mid to high 2s.

For the RS variants, it's easily into the 3s. At which point, why not consider the other brands I just mentioned.

Maybe I should buy a new bicycle. Be healthier.
