Did anyone see where ESPN reportedly laid off 300 and that’s not counting the 200 Unfilled positions they already had?

Something tells me that when these sports broadcast contracts (college conferences in 2023, NFL, NBA, MLB, etc) come up for renewal, Disney won’t be pumping in the same overpaid amount$ as before. I saw where Bob Ley (Was there 40 years & been retired since 2019) slammed them and said “enjoy the higher Disney stock price and your nfl”

What’s that? Like 6 days and 18 hrs a year?

I watch the Fox Kickoff show for college football cause imo it is better with Urb who knows football better.

Other than good college football games I don’t watch the network. Haven’t watched any pro sports in years (except mma-YouTube or internet on next day) & college basketball is a 2 weekend sport on cbs and paramount networksfor me in March.

Actually, to be fair I do sometimes watch other games on ESPN, depending on what game is on. But I literally never watch anything other than the actual game. I don't watch their talk shows or SportsCenter or their pre-game show or halftime shows or anything else. And I get annoyed even watching the actual game because their game coverage is so bad and because in game ads are incessant.

I wish games were on more than one network so I could choose to watch something other than ESPN.

ETA: And I may watch a little college basketball on ESPN now and then but only if it's during football season because I get rid of ESPN after football season until the next fall. But that's it.

My son just came upstairs to tell me that espn just announced joe Biden as president on college game day.. that’s why I don’t watch. Keep politics out of sports. They can’t so I don’t watch!!

They are buried under their NBA contract during a time the league is struggling for viewers.

Same here as well but the problem is that I have to pay the same amount to ESPN every month regardless.

Dump cable. We have SlingTV blue package, no ESPN. During college football I switch to Orange package, but not this season.

I make sure ESPN gets as little of my money as possible, if any.

They will end up like MTV.

I don’t know what these networks pay for pro sports, but you’re probably right

I will say:
-Haven’t watched the nba since Jordan’s pushoff and win @ Utah. That was what 98?
-Haven’t watched nfl since Ray Rice KOd his gf in an elevator an got a 2 game suspension. That was years before kneeling during the anthem which told me I was right to be done earlier.
-Haven’t watched mlb since the strike of 94. Reds were good back then. Gwynn had a shot at 0.400 and Williams and Griffey Jr had a legit shot at a legit 61.

I forget the number and dont feel like searching for it but ESPN overpaid for NBA...its an absurd contract. They inked it right before streaming and cord cutting took hold, I believe.

I only watch pro sports if I go to a bar, and those are all basically closed were I live....hockey is big in my area and while I don't know much about the sport the NHL seems like a fun league.

I just wish Joe Tesetore and the qb analyst from Bama would have got laid off. I can’t stand Tesetore. He should be a midnight fm dj where no one has to listen to him.
