Guy was 2-0 against us. I hope one day we have a quarterback that goes 2-0 against penn state, gets drafted, and penn state fans post on their board about his professional career .
Sign me up for that

yeah.. my admiration of Flood decreases all the time........

Sad thing is, we have Hackenburg light in Sitkowski. A big/tall QB who looks the part, but can't get the job done.
A little too soon to give up but carry on
First Geno. Then Hackenberg.

The two double whammy QBs that both beat Rutgers in college then couldnt do a damn thing for me as a Jets fan.

Oh the misery
Yet we have guys like Simms and Flacco coming from smaller schools and doing well. But for the Jets but just saying. Maybe Darnold will break the Joe Willy curse.

we should have beaten them at least once those 2 years.............
A lot of teams who beat us had QBs who did not make it in the NFL. We have not really ever had an NFL QB either. I guess Savage started a while. Lucas a little bit.

Hack is the perfect example of why we need to stick to an offensive identity and recruit to it. He was a 5* QB, McSorely was not recruited anywhere as a QB, but he fit the system and looked way better

So, in one sense, are you saying ratings don't matter? Or were those made-up ratings on Hackenberg?

Mike McMahon and Mike Teel also played for a few years in he NFL .
Right but they said Hack never started so Flood should have beaten Penn St. I’m nit sure either of those guys started. Maybe Mac but it wasn’t many games of at all.

Just did a quick search and Lucas had two years where he played a decent amount with Jets and Dolphins. Mac and Savage had one year each. Teel had none. Go figure the guy who finishes #12 in the country and puts up some crazy college stats plays the least of our NFL QB’s.

If you are correct, the future does not bode well for Sit.
From Hack's Wiki page:
Scouted as a five-star recruit by both Rivals.com and Scout.com, and the No. 2 pro-style quarterback in the nation, Hackenberg was described as an accurate, drop-back passer with ample athleticism who had a high ceiling.

He had a very strong freshman season- 231/392 (58.9%), 2955 yards, 20 TDs, 10 INT.
He had slightly worse stats his sophomore year and 12 TDs/15 INTs.

His OL was pretty bad one or two of those years. But something else seemed to happen with with him. He definitely looked better early than he did lyer in his career.

His completion percentage dropped 5 points to 53% by his senior year.

Now now. Geno was a good college QB. He just wasn't remotely a pro style guy. Why they drafted him I'll never know. He had lousy aim. It just didn't matter in college because his receivers would be so wide open due to all of the confusion they caused with that offense...or else he'd just run. Watching us try to defend WVU in those years and our guys falling for all the misdirection was unpleasant.

Assinine post. Just saying.

When the Jets wasted a 2nd round pick on Suck'n'sack, there were actually fans here who thought it was a good selection. Sounds like Plum Street may have been one of them.

I can't find the draft post, but most RU fans were pretty much right on that Hack would suck. @RU848789 actually did a better job predicting that Hack would suck it up in the NFL than predicting the weather:

Some of our fans were blaming Franklin- one fan thought Hack would do well in the NFL:

Arts going to do the opposite. He’s gonna be more like Teel. Let’s hope.
Cause for concern:

This is what a Penn State poster said about Hack:
" FWIW, prior to the draft they had a former NFL GM on talk radio here in Cleveland. Of course, the Browns were in the market for a QB so they asked about Hack. The GM pointed to his accuracy issues that were there coming out of high school and followed him throughout college and said it is the one QB trait that is nearly impossible to fix."

Found this article on Art when he decided to go to IMG:
https://usatodayhss.com/2017/artur-sitkowski-img-academy-football-leader
"He led his team to the state semifinals, but he often got razzed at road games and ripped on social media because his numbers were unimpressive: 49.9 percent completions, 1,216 yards, six touchdown passes and nine interceptions."

IMG:
http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/artur-sitkowski/4elXYSQwEeS00gAmVebEWg/default.htm
45/79 370 yards 2 TDs/4 INTs

RU:
http://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/4361530/artur-sitkowski
134/273 (49.1%) 4 TDs/18 INT.

MOST were right, I agree. Re RU#'s - those are fighting words, LOL, but that's his fight, not mine.
Actually, the PSU fan kjb had Hack nailed down pretty good. I quoted his post immediately above.

Some of you seriously think Sitkowski can actually improve enough to become a good QB?? I have no clue what you watched last year to give you that thought process.

Oh and Hackenberg did look pretty bad. I kept wondering who the backup was. The unheralded Luis Perez looked much better.

High school ratings are like buying stock futures. They reflect what has happened not what will happen in the future. Best guess scenarios.

Did any of you see Artur at IMG ? He looked exactly the same as he did at RU, except he wasn't getting knocked down all of the time.
He had accuracy and decision-making problems. Which is why he was replaced as the qb at IMG. I hope he turns it around here, but I'm not optimistic.
Hope I'm wrong.
