OT : Has anyone even had a nerve block?

I had a knee allograft done today, and they gave me a nerve block but my knee isn't numb ... just my lower leg and foot (I can't really feel anything on my lower leg and a little on my foot). Is this normal? Please no trolling, it's a serious question.

Take it to the serious question forum - The Paddock. There are several doctors that give out pro bono advice there. I'm not a doctor, but if you got a block for your knee and you can still feel it, it didn't work.

I had a nerve block 6 places on my lower back, it worked so they did a facet resodemy. That's where they burned the nerves off my lower back around the facet bones. 6 places no numbing medication, they forgot to give it to me. It worked for the pain but never again. I had this done at UK Med. center

It's not paralyzed ... it's just mostly numb. I can move my foot but my calf portion of my leg is basically all the way numb.

When a jerk starts a non-relevant thread, let's say it's about a knee or maybe an elbow. Then a mod has to take time away from Pornhub and move it to the proper forum.

If you are on RR and feel the need to place an "OT" at the front of your thread title, take it to the Paddock. Then it isn't OT at all.

Not sure if this is a serious thread or not due to the responses but I'll bite (just on the off chance it could give some incite to someone). Yes, I tore my ACL & MCL 3 years ago last month. In the process I had to have 4 surgeries (Other issues involved) to fix it completely. My first surgery I had a Nerve block and it was a terrible "Pinch" feeling on my hip (or at-least it felt that way, I was really doped up at the time). After the surgery it took some time to get the feeling back again in most of my knee, thigh region. For parts of it, it took months and months. Eventually though I did get all of the feeling back. From what my doctor told me it was pretty normal it depending on the process it could take a long time or a short time to get the feeling back. I wasn't too sure about that explanation.

FWIW I refused the nerve block on the following 3 surgeries because I didn't like how it made me feel.

I'm not sure if it's the same or not, but when I tore my MCL playing HS football in 1974 I got a spinal tap before the surgery. Such was the state of things at that time. My entire lower body wasn't what I'd call numb, there was just absolutely no feeling whatsoever. Like being paralyzed I imagine. Lasted for 3 days. So I'd guess, and that's all it is, that's normal. Your doctor's the one you should really ask.

It is absolutely a serious thread, I had this ukjr moron blocked because he's just following me around trolling for w/e reason. Thank you for the response though, I appreciate it. It's not so much the pain that worries me because it's tolerable, but this "paralyzed" feeling even though I can move everything is still weird. I will refuse the nerve block on any further surgeries that is for sure.

I had one on my arm for a frozen shoulder procedure. For almost an entire day the arm was completely numb and useless. I was starting to get worried I would never get the sensation back.
