So sad. A true true American legend to so many people. I'm watching the golf channel now and they just tried to have Freddy couples on to get his thoughts and he couldn't even speak. So so sad.

This is still one of my favorite ESPN commercials of all-time. RIP, Arnie.

Sad weekend. Arnold meant so much not only to golf but the sports world in general. He was a pioneer on and off the course. The man only made 2 million in his playing days (with 66 wins) but his work alongside IMG and TV executives during the 1960's changed the way we viewed golf and made Arnold a business mogul that not many really know about. All of us golf nerds owe Arnie a very big thank you!

It was also a sad weekend in the baseball world as well. Young Cuban defector and star, Jose Fernandez, for the Miami Marlins died in a boating accident. By all accounts he was a really good guy and far too young to leave us.

My father grew up idolizeing Arnie and broke some of his course records in PA. I have a sweet picture of them together when my dad was younger and a really good player...I put it up on my Facebook today.

My son's middle name is Palmer....born on Masters weekend.... after Arnie and his ties to my father growing up...I was fortunate enough to have Arnie sign the picture of him and my father to my son...he is five now. Someday I will give it to him and explain the significance of the pic...his grandfather and The King.

The sports world lost a Great Figure this day.....

Legend doesn't even begin to describe Mr. Palmer. I had the pleasure of meeting him many years ago at Pebble Beach and got to walk the course with him at the age of 8 or 9. Listening to the golf channel all night and today is both sad and an amazing tribute to the King. He is what all people should aspire to be- kind to everyone they meet and caring. He will be missed.
