Wow, they blew a 21-point lead before sneaking out a win...no early lead is ever safe anymore with the proliferation of 3's.That combination of Murray and Bohannon is pretty dang deadly. Giving UVA a whipping.
Maybe a combination of both. They were extremely hot against us. A lot of that is luck. But in addition, VA likely has a lot more talent than we do as a recent National Champion and perrenial NCAA team and Bennet has shown imself to be no average coach.Virginia beat Providence 58-40 the day after Providence beat us 77-72.
Providence made 14 of 29 from 3 against us. 11 of 24 from closer.
Against Virginia, Providence made 3 of 22 from 3 point land, 9 of 29 from closer.
Is this a case of "what a difference a day makes?"
or "what a difference a defense makes?"
Any fair assessment would say its a combination of both, but you don't want to be on the receiving end of your opponents "best shooting night of the season."Maybe a combination of both. Our team is not, overall, less talented than VA. FWIW:Any fair assessment would say its a combination of both, but you don't want to be on the receiving end of your opponents "best shooting night of the season."
Not sure about the relative talent levels. I think our team is fairly talented.
Well VA does have 3 top 100 ranked in their class players on their roster. NU has 1. So there is that. Our team is not, overall, less talented than VA. FWIW:
VA - KP #48, BT #65
NU - KP #40, BT #50
IMO, the reasons we allowed PC a higher FG% than VA, in order of importance:
1) We played zone, VA didn't
2) VA is better than us on the defensive end
3) Luck

Sorry but VA is more talented. Where it probably shows up more is on D where we need to play a fair amount of zone. Fine if they are not hitting over it but a problem if they areAny fair assessment would say its a combination of both, but you don't want to be on the receiving end of your opponents "best shooting night of the season."
