OT: Jay Wright coaching tree

[Mr_Twister]

Is Fred Hill, Jr considered a branch on the Jay Wright coaching tree? Who are some others? NJ-native Drew Kelly, head coach at Harcum College? No he was student manager under Steve Lappas.

[NYKnightFan]

Sort of an aside - Baker Dunleavy is rumored to have emerged as a favorite for the Stony Brook job. Maybe the tree gets another branch.

[Sideline20]

Tom Pecora- former HC at Fordham is a "dead" branch of the Jay Wright tree.

[RutgHoops]

Pat Chambers at Penn State

looks like the Jay Wright coaching tree is in a dwarf stage

[rufeelinit]

Dunleavy to SBU might make sense since they have not pulled the trigger on anyone else. Thought he might be headed to help dad at Tulane but maybe not. If he does leave does Brandon knight become a candidate at nova?

[Mr_Twister]

Probably need Nova fans to throw in on coaches, adding names here.

[Novahoop03]

Billy Lang- Coached Navy, back to Nova, now assistant on the sixers

Joe Jones - head coach at Columbia, the assistant at BC, now head coach at BU

Ed Pinckney - after assistant at Nova, has been an NBA assistant in Minnesota, Chicago and Denver

Pat Chambers and Fred Hill mentioned above

Doug West - head coach Penn State Altoona

Curtis Sumpter and Jason Fraser - Both former players who are now both in the NBA (sixers and sun) as player personnel guys

Chris Walker - Associate head coach at Texas tech

Brett Gunning - assistant coach with the Houston Rockets and Orlando Magic

Tom Peccora (at Hofstra- no Villanova) as mentioned above

The best future head coaching prospect on the current staff is Baker. He will likely leave Villlanova in the next few years to be the head coach of a low-mid their program. He will be the likely favorite to replace Jay Wright eventually.

Baker Dunleavh is a favorite for Delaware job, pretty good job, better than Stoney Brook

[Mr_Twister]

A friend tells me that Delaware is without an AD and the Athletics Dept is a mess. Both football and men's hoops have backslid in a major way. Football attendance is down drastically -- not too long ago Delaware was always near the top for football attendance at the Div-1AA level.
