As a former Rutgers coach, what are folks opinions on Hafley as the next NY Giants head coach?

Great as a recruiter (which does not matter in the NFL) and coordinator. HC might be a step too far.

Giant fans would crucify ownership. Did you get this idea from someone else or is this Mrs. Hafley

I don't watch NFL but have heard his name mentioned by media as one to watch in the future for HC spots in the NFL.

Also have heard Giants have some interest in Marcus Freeman but not sure that the interest is reciprocated. He's happy at ND and I'm not sure if there might be a different NFL job he'd like if it ever came to it.

I would be a little surprised if the Giants do not reach out to Lane Kiifin at some point. They have a QB with potential and it is the guy he tutored.

Hafley will be a popular name for vacancies this year because his defense is playing very well. Not sure he is a huge upgrade over the deposed, but I can see him being considered.

Hafley is someone I would love for RU to go after if Schiano can't deliver by the end of his contract. He is still young and hungry. Head coaching experience at BC and NFL experience. Hopefully the stars aligned in our favor if things don't work out.

Why? He is 22-26 and 0-1 vs GS.

Hafley did some great recruiting in his brief time at Rutgers. It will never happen but I'd love to see him as DC

Anthony Campinale is another NFL D coordinator that I would wonder about down the road. Has the Jags playing pretty well without a lot of tools

I suppose the record is due to him coaching at BC and not getting the recruits he needed or the financial support. Seems like a good coach with experience at RU (super important), Ohio State, BC as a head coach, Pitt, and the NFL.So seems like a good set of experiences. Since college is becoming more and more like the pros the most important thing is having a good coach that can get a lot out of his players and out if his coaches, while also getting the financial support.

But you are right, his record doesn't seem like much and maybe other better coaches are going to be available.
