Don't care what anyone thinks about Bama, THIS is a football player.

"Finish is one of our core values. I think that’s important as a leader to refocus and emphasize the core values. That’s one of our statements as a group. We started the season all together. It’s about finishing together as well. I think that was just important when it comes to playing in this game. Finishing the season out with my brothers in Tampa. Started the season out against Western Kentucky together. We’re going to finish the season together. That was just the emphasis. I told him, we’re going to finish the season on a bang. We’re going to come together as a group and try to have the best plan we can be so we can be the best version of ourself. That’s just the thought process. It was all about finish."

I love everything about that statement. Alabama is going to the king of "meaningless" bowls. Preseason title contender relegated to the Reliaquest Bowl and he's off to the NFL next year. Opting out never even crossed his mind. Per the contemporary sissy philosophy, he has no reason to play in that game.

And, no, the irony is not lost on me that we have to praise a player who is finishing his team's season.

What is his NFL Draft projection? He is not like a top 10 pick projection or is he really high?

From what he's saying the rest of the team will show up as well. Pretty impressive, in my opinion. That might say more about DeBoer's leadership than anything else happening this season.

Yes, yes it does.

Of all teams that have a reason to throw in the towel this bowl season (if you believe contemporary narratives), Bama leads the way.

I will now be rooting for Bama in this game.

And I love that he didn't say anything about thought and prayer and all that. There was no thought process. It was simply a matter of "I'm a football player. My team has a game. Of course I'm playing."

I like that Milroe is playing, he should so it isn't like I admire him for it or anything but he could be like so many other quitters and not play. That said, I wouldn't pull for Bama against the Taliban.

I agree 18. I'll be pulling for Alabama as well, solely because of this decision. I appreciate college players doing what they signed up to do, which is (gasp) play football.

Piscis, so Clemson vs Alabama you're pulling for Clemson?

Asteroid game. 9 overtimes to get to a 2-0 win for one of the teams and both teams suffer lots of injuries.

It's interesting you have this much hate for a program we rarely play. Why?

I can't stand Tennessee or Missouri, for example, but I'd be a huge fan of both programs if they're playing Clemson.

I'm around more Bama fans than Tenn or MO fans and Bama fans are the most entitled bunch you will ever meet. They truly think they have a birthright to being in whatever national championship game is played.

I'm not around a bunch of Clemson fans so my hate for them isn't white hot but I still don't like Clemson.

I'm never around UT or Missouri fans, I just can't stand the programs. Something about both of them...

I lived in Tennessee during their Peyton Manning glory days. That was enough for me. I hate UT more than Clemson, and it's not close.

I absolutely have no problem when a player mentions prayer in decision making. That person is responsible for what is in his heart.

Point is, it wasn't a decision he had to wrestle with. He's football player on a team, why would he not be playing in his team's game?

I don't have to pray each morning to see if it's God's will for me to go to work to earn money to provide for my family.

Some things are just a given.

If a guy has to pray about whether or not to quit on the team, scripture is pretty clear what the answer would be.

I hope it doesn't backfire on DeBoer, if his teams shows up, but they lose to a team that had more opt outs, Bama fans will go nuts, LOL
