Nice username. I remember those days hotter than heck, back breaking, 100 sticks in, pick up another, praying there's water left in the orange igloo at the end of the row. Hard work but you were amongst family and friends. I miss those days sometimes. Bet most on here have no idea what a baccer knife and spear is. Nothing like a big baloney sandwich, slice of fresh mater, with baccer tar on it from your hands.

I didn't grow up on a farm but did help set it, top it, hang it and strip it. The only thing I didn't really do was cut it. I was too slow. :joy:
Once we were hanging a small field and it rained as we were hanging a load and got the last couple of loads in the field wet. The farmer wanted to go ahead and get it all so we did. By the time I got home I was as sick as a dog. I guess it was nicotine poisoning from the tobacco being wet and dripping on me as I was handing it up from the trailer.
Some of my other memories were stripping with it as cold as snot with the radio on listening to the Rick Pitino call in show.

I love Waylon, but I quit drinking back in 1987. I'll say, I've been kicking around the thought of buying a bottle. I'm 75, and we are in tough times.
I definitely think we are rolling downhill like a snowball headed for hell. Merle was my favorite.
Give me a quarter pound of pickled balona, a sleeve of saltines, a cold Coke and a Moon Pie, and I’m good for another 500 sticks (actually 350!).
