one of my older brothers when he graduated from college got a brand new Martin 12 string circa 1970, when I graduated I got to buy my dad's $2500 Ford pick up for $1500!! Even though I didn't play the guitar, I think I wanted that Marin.

2.5 Million guitars? I bet they're feeling about half past dead after making all those.

I have an HD-28 and a Jimmy Buffett Signature model.....
Something tells me the 2,500,000 is out of my price range.

I have always wanted a Martin, but really, I already have too much tied up in guitars (and amps) to justify it.
I'll admit to being a Martin fan boy, but IMHO of the major manufacturers, it's the best overall sound and tone.

Playability maybe not so much....out of the box the action is super high for Bluegrass style playing, but that is easily rectified. Still, I find the playability of, say, Taylors, to be better.

Still....just nothing like that Martin tone.

how about Paul Reed Smith guitars? I dont play so I dont know. I was at a fund raiser for Sandy's old school, and I guess his (PRS) kids went there and he made guitars for Carlos Santana, one of Carlos signed models went for $16,000 that night. I thought wow.

I'll confess to never having played one. They make acoustic guitars, but are mostly known for their electric guitars.

I'm sure they are quality instruments.

Our friend, who is a top notch musician and a frequent Martin visitor, recently bought a new Martin D42 and a PRS guitar and he loves both.
