You know what lighter gloves are going to do? Make Mayweather's hands that much faster. I still say McGregor quits on the stool in the 8th round. Mayweather is such a good counter puncher that McGregor is going to get tired of getting hit and start to stay back. Then it's Mayweathers show.

There's ZERO chance McGregor wins this thing if it goes the distance, that's for sure. Mayweather wins in a decision. What there is a chance of is McGregor landing on some punches that are very foreign to Mayweather. That's the only way he can pull off the upset.

McGregor knows he will lose and is just enjoying the payday. Floyd is boring as hell to watch but this is a boxing match and Connor has no chance. I doubt Floyd will knock him out but I don't care enough to watch a boxer like Floyd dance and dodge and win on points. It's boring.

Mayweather and Manny conned us a few years ago. No reason to tune in to this circus.

Pulling for McGregor. Doubt he has much a chance, but nothing will surprise me in this match. McGregor, while not a boxer, is still one of the top athletes/fighters in the world with punching power to boot. I feel like some people think as if Glass Joe was just pulled out of retirement for the fight.

I can't believe anyone is buying into this event
This is a complete scam that is just to take a sucker's money. Floyd Mayweather found the perfect shill to make a few more millions.
This is not a fight or a boxing match or a sporting event and is as real as the WWE.

You will be disappointed if you put down $100 to watch this crap, guaranteed

We are wrapping a party around it - lots of food, family, and adult beverages.

No way Conor wins this fight - anyone who buys this fight for the competition is wasting their money - but it should make for a good party starter...

Give these guys credit. They are laughing their a$$es all the way to the bank. They both know this is the payday of their careers and are building it up as much as they can. Hopefully (thought the same after the Manny fight) this will be the end of people falling for Mayweather's BS and he is never heard from again.

He is a major POS but an incredible boxer (although boring as hell to watch). Conor has no chance in this fight unless he scores the luckiest punch he has ever thrown. Nobody has caught Mayweather with a numbing shot in 49 fights. He has fought the best the world can offer in his weight class.

My guess is Floyd scores a TKO in 7 rounds. He will just overwhelm him with his speed and Conor's face is going to turn into a mess and the fight will be stopped.

Sounds like fun. I am absolutely torn about September 16. It's a special night for boxing fans as GGG vs Canelo is on and at the same time UK plays USC 80 miles up the interstate.
I have not decided which to see live.

Some of you people are naive.

Look, this isn't about a boxing match with two great warriors going at it. This is a huge cash grab between an over the hill, overrated in his prime bum, and an MMA guy whose lost a few fights against his own competition.

My guess is they're looking for a second huge cash grab, which means that they'll put on a good show, and perhaps make it go the distance.

If Mayweather knocks him out in the first or second round, well, there really won't be much of an outcry for a rematch, and believe me, that's what they really want.

I'll be stunned if this doesn't drag on until the later rounds.

In fact, they may fix this to where Mcgregor wins, and that would set up an even bigger payday for the rematch.

McGregor will get hit a lot more than he is used to in his MMA fights and probably have some cuts after a couple of rounds and the fight will be stopped. All the people who paid for the ppv are going to be pissed.
I would like to see McGregor win but it's a real long shot in my opinion. He has a punchers chance I guess but I keep coming back to the fact that he isn't a boxer. There is a big age difference so that could be a factor.

think that is about right. I do think Mayweather being 40 is a concern, no way he has the reflexes he had even 5 years ago, McGregor has to win early though, that is his one and only chance, to bully Mayweather in the first two rounds and beat him senseless, but if it goes more than 4 or 5 rounds, he has zero chance to win.

This is true. I've got a few close friends who do not keep up with fighting at all and all of a sudden want to watch all of Mcgregor's old fights. Totally engaged now.

Before this fight only MMA fans even really knew who he was. Seems like everyone knows who he is now.
I knew him as the best dressed man I have ever seen.

My thoughts are Floyd is -400 which means he has a 1 in 5 chance of losing. I would say that is a big stretch I think these 2 would have to box 15 or 16 times for McGregor to win once. So that's a great bet on Mayweather.

My second thought is that every training video I have seen of McGregor shows him training for power punching. He is going to try to land big blows. That's his strategy, but he is going to leave his own head open to get peppered by the best jab puncher in the history of boxing.

In defense of McGregor I think he has a much better chance to beat Mayweather at boxing than Mayweather would have to beat him in a fight.

McGregor can throw a very powerful punch. The only way he wins this fight is if he can get in on Mayweather with a solid combo and rock him and then explode on him with a hay maker. Mayweather is the best defensive boxer in history. There is a reason he is 49-0. McGregor maybe the best MMA fighter in the world but this is his first pro boxing match and he is going against one of the best boxers of all time. What I hope doesn't happen is that McGregor starts to get peppered with shots from Mayweather, forgets he is in a "boxing" match, gets desperate and uses his feet against Mayweather. I don't think that will happen but stranger things have happened in boxing. To me this is an over hyped exhibition fight. Mayweather could toy with him and let him hang around or he could come out and go right at McGregor and put away early..McGregor will have to knock him out to win, there is no way in hell he will win on a decision. We were in Vegas about a month ago and the hype was building, we stayed at the Monte Carlo which is a stones throw away, directly across the street from the T-Mobile Arena. I wish we would have waited and gone out this weekend, that place is going to be crazier than it already is..There is a sitting area/park across the parking lot from the arena. I bought me a few pre-rolled joints while there and sat in the park and enjoyed some nice smoke..

I found out today that McGregor forfeits his entire payday if he does any MMA stuff. Sorry if that's already been discussed but I was bummed to find out he can't roundhouse kick the piss out of Mayweather.

One punch can change a fight. I think mayweather was stupid to agree to lighter gloves.

He has fought in 8 oz gloves more times than McGregor will ever box. His hands are only faster in lighter gloves. His hand speed and recognition and reaction time is off the charts. The sanctioning body only allowed the switch to lighter gloves because they knew it might help McGregor keep them in front of his face, where he'll need them to help deflect all those punches he'll never see.

I hope Mayweather completely embarrasses him, and I'm no Mayweather fan at all.

Yep, definitely for Mayweather. McGregor has taken "punk" to a new level and so have some of his Irish fans...cursing at Mayweather's kids. What a bunch of lowlife cowards.

Yep Mayweather is quite a class act. You ever check out his domestic violence history?

Cursing and spitting foulness in the faces of men or groups of men who will knowingly soon own your worthless, sorry *** is a long standing tradition among the Irish.

I know an Irish POS that kept trying to get me to invest in stuff, promising me 20 percent returns. I finally told him to never contact me again and that he was a scumbag.

It will be interesting to see how they match up at fight time. Mayweather will not, never has, gained significantly after weigh-in. He showed up at 149. Doubt seriously he enters the ring any more than 155-157 and that is stretching it. McGregor showed up a very lean looking 153. No doubt he will enter the ring well above 160.

Just saying, it's pretty obvious. Mayweather is no fool and when he's winning the fight he's not going to give Connor that out and still let him get paid.

Not sure what that has to do with being Irish. Sounds like he's just more of a scammer.

How is McGregor scum? He had a few bad looks with some borderline racial stuff.. but as far as I know he has a clean history. Just talks a lot of ****, which is probably more of his persona than anything.

I hope Connor whoops his *** but Floyd will dance around the ring the whole damn time throw a total of 12 punches land 5 and win via scorecard. Floyd is too old to try and go blow for blow with him as if it we're Darryl strawberry and doc gooden. If Floyd does try and fight he wil get his *** whooped. Hopefully Connor can taunt and bait him into fighting so they may actually throw some punches
