OT: Met my wife 40 years ago today.

Our first day of work, fresh out of graduate school. It’s also our 36th wedding anniversary. I’ve said many times here that I’ve lead a charmed life, an incredibly lucky life, and Jane is Exhibit #1 of this fact. SMH.

Our first date was at the National Zoo, lol.

I considered that you must have a proof that correlates the success of marriage to where a woman lies on the hot-crazy continuum. Then I considered that you and your wife are an outlier. 🤔

OUTSTANDING... I too was married/remarried on this day 15 years ago... 08/08/08 at 8am in the morning (next to a beautiful creek in Highland Park TX).

I had 250 people at first wedding in 1996 and total of 4 people at wedding #2

I like to tell people "I've been married for 25 years, just not consecutively"

I was married twice in the same week. Wife really wanted an outdoor wedding, but that is not allowed in the Catholic Church, so we had a evening Mass/ Wedding then the Outdoor wedding later that week.

I grew up in what can best be described as a militant Catholic Boston Irish home. My first wedding was full Catholic Mass as well. My mother came to hate my first wife so much she didn't raise a single objection when we divorced and I remarried. I was always in love with Italian girls growing up, but ended up marrying an O'Brien and a O'Finley.

Congrats to you both LionJim.
My wife and I met in high school. I was a senior and she was a junior. She was, and still is, the prettiest girl I'd ever seen. We had some classes together but I'd never asked her out before I summoned every ounce of courage I had and asked her to the prom. She was obviously surprised, told me she was expecting someone else to ask her, and said, "can I let you know?" I mumbled "sure" and figured at least she didn't say no. About 15 minutes later she came back and accepted. The rest, as they say, is history. We have been married over 50 years.

Congratulations @LionJim and best wishes to you and the Mrs.!

My own marriage lasted exactly half this long, and that seemed like a long time indeed. So I find 36 years to be particularly impressive :) Good for you two!

We just celebrated our 41st anniversary. We met at the Train Station (the original Train Station, the upstairs of what became the Cattle Car). We announced our engagement at the new Train Station, and several years later the fact that she was expecting. Good times. Congratulations, LionJim!
