From the article:

While that remains a topic du jour, with bowl season in full swing, Michigan tight end and senior captain Jake Butt raises another question, while admitting he can't judge or fault those players for making a business decision.

“Yeah, why aren't we talking about coaches leaving their bowl games early and leaving all their players behind?" Butt asked. "Coaches can leave. Players can't leave; players can't transfer just because their coaches leave. Coaches can come and go as they please, when more money is placed on the table, the coach will most likely chase after that. Here we are living off rent checks. Guy sees an opportunity for a lifelong dream for the NFL and make a business decision, I can't judge anybody. I don't know what all went into that decision, and I'm not going pretend to know. I'm not going to judge or act on that. I support those guys. Best of luck to them.”

He is really good like you said he is an All American TE and he is much beloved by the Michigan fans. I saw a piece they had on him and the Michigan fans had some great T-shirts playing on his name. He seems like a good guy who comes from a good family.

Yes not sure if it was an ACL or MCL. Took a bad hit to the thigh and his foot was planted solid. He did walk off the field but didn't return after the half.

And now Jake Butt Tears his ACL in the Orange Bowl...again Exhibition Game....

Michigan tight end Jake Butt tore his ACL during Friday night's Orange Bowl and will need to undergo surgery, a source close to the school told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Butt injured his right knee at the end of a 16-yard reception in the second quarter of Florida State's 33-32 victory.

Butt, a senior, won the Mackey Award as the nation's best tight end this season and was considered one of the top NFL prospects at the position heading into Friday's game. ESPN NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. ranks Butt as the third-best draft-eligible tight end for the 2017 class.

I wonder if he's second guessing his own decision.........
I thought the same thing. I don't want to call it anything but irony. I know some will call it karma, but that's a bit strong. Hope the kid recovers and has a productive NFL career.
