This is a bit unique though since I believe it’s the only major stadium of its kind in all of Hawaii and will certainly be used for a lot more than football. Also lots of skepticism in the comments about this actually happening. Looks nice though!

As you mentioned, the project is not solely, or even primarily, for a Football Stadium.
The proposal calls for “expected to include retail, residential, commercial, hotels, hospitality, cultural and community facilities,”, the stadium being just one item.

It also, as proposed, calls for about $170 million in state money (with expectations that total state investment could end up at twice that amount) - the rest is a wild-*** guess as to how much private developers would end up putting into all the various stuff in the region they are hoping to see developed - hotels, apartment buildings, restaurants, entertainment venues, etc.

The roof design is a lot like what we see with soccer stadiums.

They need it the last time I was at the existing stadium it needed a lot of work and upgrades.
It was an older stadium but I liked it. It was kind of unique with the elevated walkways in the corners.
