His injury had nothing to do with being “tiny”.

I. Agree though - very fragile. He can’t stay up either. Always falling.
Eh I think it had some to do with being tiny. Guys fall awkwardly into the boards all the time and get up. Jack any time he takes any form of hard contact seems to get hurt alot more than most. You guys laugh when i say it but ive been in bars with him and hes super super thin. Looks like a high school kid size wise

He has shoulder issues. People of all sizes have shoulder issues. He doesn’t have shoulder issues cause he’s small.

And no one is doubting you that he’s small. But you keep saying that’s a hindrance, especially in the playoffs - when it hasn’t been. His shoulder issue is the hinderence. And the fact he falls a lot while skating lol

Not all points are the same. You should watch his playoff games/points there.

If im starting a franchise jack hughes aint the guy im building around. Need more size and bite.

So some points mean more than others? Who cares how a player gets points..

I’d agree with you about building a franchise around him - not the guy to build around, sure. That seems like a different argument, discussion though

Wouldn’t be shocked if Jack is done for season. Didn’t look good at all, and already lots of speculation. Ugh. Oh well -

We all know that’s his MO . He’s been MIA on the rags thread and that teams an absolute dumpster fire this season. He only comes here bc he’s a jerkoff

I'm not sure if Fitzgerald is with us or not, but if he is, I still think he has to add by the deadline on Friday. Despite how lousy they've been for 2 months and that they're now down their best player, they're still 8 pts up on a playoff spot with 20 games left. We see other GMs get creative all the time. If Hughes and Siegenthaler are done for the year, put them on LTIR and use the cap space. Just like Vegas. Just like Tampa and on and on. They have 3 second rounders next year - all of which we'll bungle or will take 5 years to develop anyway. I'm not saying they have to mortgage the future to make a futile run at the playoffs, but they cannot just let themselves sink at 8 pts up right now.

We've been banging our heads against the wall with the same basic 12-13 forwards for the last 2+ months. I'm not saying he's THE answer, but how does a guy like Halonen (41 goals in his last 80 AHL games) not get an extended try in NJ? We have to see more of Nate Bastian? Just to update the totals:

Haula - 0 points since 11/25, full no movement clause (nice work Fitz)
Bastian - 1 goal since October 22
Lazar - 1 goal since October 25
Dowling - 0 goals since November 30
Palat - full no trade clause (nice work Fitz)

Try SOMETHING.

FItz' first move: to broker a deal so that an NHL player can move from BOS to EDM. Meanwhile, Tomas Tatar is back on the 2nd line tonight.

Devs retaining 50% there may be a hint at jack hughes stats. LTIR done for the year so utilize your cap space as an asset

LaChance, 21, is in his second season with Boston University (Hockey East) at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) level. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound forward has recorded 25 points (10g-15a) in 32 games this season. His goals, assists, and points totals all rank in the top five for Boston skaters in 2024-25, while his five game-winning goals rank second (tied) on the team.

I hate to say this, but I think their season will end with no playoffs. Too many teams up their *** now with games in hand.

What a stupid play by Kovacevich. Either gain the red line or circle it back and take the point going in to overtime. That guy should get bag skated tomorrow until his eyes bleed

Don’t think that’s too far fetched.

They’ve been brutal since Christmas with no signs of improvement.

No scoring depth at all. Fitz may have to go of this collapse continues

What sucks about it the most for me is that I told my son that I would take him to a playoff game this year if they made it. He has never been to one. He has been to about 15 games this year. My wife, son and I bought the holiday plan this year. So, between that and random games we all have been to a lot, and my son has been to a few with a friend. We will be there Friday and at the Vancouver game in a few weeks. Hope that game means something!

I have been keeping the faith since I went to my 1st game in 1984. Enjoyed 1988 with a ticket plan. Saw them win the cup in person in 1995 with a friend that I had season tickets with and went to a few other Stanley Cup final games in other years. I want the same for my son. It is hard when for a 2nd year in a row there were HIGH expectations, and they seem to be falling apart again.

IMO with how the market is paying right now, smart for them to sell. It's already been 12 years, 1 more year aint a big deal.

All indications are the more “significant” the injury - the more likely he’s put on LTIR which frees up about 8 million.

Right or wrong - Devils will likely be buyers. And can go big game hunting with Jack on IR

If it's "significant" that means he's not coming back for the playoffs. The devs weren't one player away even with hughes healthy.

The devs need to re-tool. They have too many small guys. Been saying this for a long time. Been saying jacks too tiny. And you guys don't wanna believe it. You can't play at his size and make it through the playoffs. We're getting to the "what could've been" phase of jack hughes. Just can't stay on the ice

This isnt breaking news by brooks. lol, everyone knew the injury was significant when it happened

More reason for devils to buy, they’re this close to the playoffs - they’re not going to squander a chance.

Now this probably means they’re not gonna get a rental for a year - they’ll probably be eyeing a center with term that they’ll need next year anyhow.

Squander what chance? Sneaking in and getting nuked in the first round? They need to reconstruct their roster in a big way this offseason. If I'm them I'm offering Ottawa Luke and Jack for Brady. They really need to shake things up

To make the playoffs.

You’re a hockey fan - you know once playoffs start - it’s a whole new season and anyone has a chance.

Devils won’t give up that chance.

The devs at full strength dont have a chance. Just as the rangers dont have a chance this year. Difference is devs are younger so can afford to sell. Rangers are older so need to at least try

All good. You also said two years ago devils had no chance against the rangers, especially after falling behind 2-0.

always a chance for anyone in the playoffs - especially in hockey. Don’t waste that opportunity!

Would be dumb if they traded any half meaningful assets

Could be, depending on the return. But with both Hughes and seigenthdker on ltir..they have 13 million to work with.

They aint gonna be sellers - Larry, lol

I’m not suggesting Eichel did it on purpose but it was a reckless play and they did not get “tangled-up” like some articles state it was Eichel that clipped him.

First I'm surprised they dropped this before the trade deadline, prices now go up. This will tell us alot, last year Fitz and ownership did NOT use the LTIR money. I'm not sure if Harris and Blitzer will allow our " very proactive " GM 😂 to use extra money via the loophole. This will be very clarifying!
