I was married to a girl from Youngstown during the 90s. My father-in-law was a Mahoning County Sheriff. I remember one day we went for a drive and along the way he showed me Traficant's house and the secret camera they had recording the comings and goings in and out of his house 24 hrs a day.
I don't know what it's like today but in the 90s the mafia was very visible in Youngstown. It wasn't some secret society hiding in the shadows. It was out in the open for the world to see.
