Blasphemy.
Beethoven
It's an acquired taste. Geddy rocks! "WE ARE THE PRIESTS OF THE TEMPLES OF SYRINX..."
Now that makes more sense. You just didn't know the name of the band, I think that happens a ton.
For years I thought some Cheap Trick songs were Aerosmith song and a few Aerosmith songs were Led Zep.
I am a fan too!I freaking love Cheap Trick! That live Budokan album received many listens.
That is sooooo Radiohead of them...
They have one HUGE commercial hit and of course what happens...they have to hate it.
If you (not you, but the band) is embarrassed of a hit song they have and they think it is crap...they should either pull the song from radio play or give back all the money they ever made from it...
Or...they can just shut up about it.
It is like listening to a playboy model saw "I really am just a tomboy, I don't even think I am attractive" . Oh okay.
I've probably listened to Side 1 of 2112 more than any album ever, other than maybe the Jayhawks 1st album, Wilco Summerteeth, or The Godlike Genius of Scott Walker. Maybe even throw in The Byrd's Sweetheart of the Rodeo for good measure.
I was amazed by the melodies of 2112 as much as the instrument arrangements. And of course the drums. I still believe that album was the best they ever created. Yes, even better than Moving Pictures. And Side 2 had some great songs on it too.
It's always worth a new listen..
