OT poll .

Do you eat supper or dinner.

My son was born in N.C. but now lives in Utah. When he was here he would ask "what's for supper." Now he eats dinner and tells me supper is not supper but dinner. What do you eat for your evening meal. Supper or dinner. OFC

My dad never used the word lunch. He would always say dinner for the mid day meal. He was born in N.C. in Caswell County which was a very rural county and still is. I can remember Sunday family dinners after church which almost always included fried chicken, biscuits, chicken gravy, mashed potatoes and pinto or green beans. OFC

NC boy here. Supper is always late afternoon/night. Dinner can be anytime, but it's more elaborate than a supper meal.

Dad called lunch "Dinner," and evening meal supper....

You must’ve read my mind Sky because I was thinking about this same thing the other night. I usually say supper but sometimes say dinner when I go out to eat but my grandparents always referred to lunch as dinner when I was a kid.

NC resident here. 12 PM meal is called lunch, 6 PM meal is called supper for eating in or going out. My daughter, who is 33 years old calls it dinner.

I grew up in NC having dinner as a child, I still have dinner as an adult, and now my kids eat dinner.. Like QC Dukie, I also have cookouts and attend cookouts, some times there's BBQ there and other times its hot dogs and hamburgers and steaks.

same here...lol...when i was little, older folks used "boot"

I remember my dad calling it the boot. When he would say something like I'm gonna put this in the boot I would go with to see the boot. Never saw any kind of boot until I figured out he called the trunk the boot. OFC
