Just to be clear: not your favorite groggery as a student (though that would also make a cool preseason poll). Your CURRENT favorite one.

I drove by the Lion's Den a week or so ago, and it looked to be closed and looking for new ownership.

Certainly, the best virtual watering hole is here! Midnighter Bar staff working hard on Purdue/Indiana inspired cocktails and libations…

Zeno's was my favorite as a student for the variety of beer. Zeno's is my favorite now for the variety of ages so I don't feel like a creeper.
No one would ever suspect that I agree completely with the former (& largely on the latter).

As an old head I pretty much dislike all these places. Local Whisky is tolerable. The place attached to it on the corner is not bad. I didn't see the Adam's Apple on the list so I cast my write in vote for that.

Cafe 210 also not listed(as others posted)

Pickles(this place pissed me off many many years ago, charged me a cover charge just to get in which is bullshiite(no band, no DJ, no nothing), some other places do this as well from what I am hearing and they will go on my shiite list if I experience it again. As a result, I talk negatively about Pickles every chance I get and will never ever go there again. Yeah, I know but I hold grudges against businesses fleecing people downtown with bullshiite covers/fees).

Used to rock the den in 88-89. It was the bomb and great music.

Based on very recent experience - last week - Pickle's. Normally it would have been Champs Downtown, but I went there after Pickles and had a not so great Suzy Wong egg roll and washed it down with as I've come to expect a watered down Blue Moon. It was the bartender and the egg roll that disappointed me most - I'm used to the watery Blue Moon on tap.

Haven’t been downtown in several years so not sure of what is there now and have never been in some of the newer ones. We have a higher class of potent potables at our tailgates (the shot clock has some high quality booze).

19th hole any golf course!!

Played Beachwood in NMB this morning with my FIL. He’s not very good and they’re very low key there. Great chili dog on the turn and ice cold Yuengling on the drink cart!

The only place I've been too recently is Federal Tap House and that's only because I stay at the Hyatt whenever I'm in town now. I like it well enough.

As a student I'd say the Gaff.
