With half the people in the state hating him, can’t say it would be optimal for fund raising

more established i agree with but picking someone based on age is a no no
picking someone on anything other than their qualifications should also be a no no, but we have seen it happen even in the role of VP of the US so no reason it can't happen for president of a university.

Lots of news reports today on Murphy and the job which is kind of scary.

Picking candidates based on age, gender or sexual preference are over hopefully. Pick candidate’s based on ability to do the job at a high level …..period.

He would be a huge help for RU athletics.
Based on what, that he showed up to some games? I'm not saying he wouldn't be but all he did for NJ was increase spending by like 65% on an already over taxed state. What in his background makes you think he would be good for RU athletics?

I believe @rutgersal called this weeks ago that he would be in the mix.
Nice call.
I have seen or heard nothing to suggest that Gov. Murphy is "in the mix". What I have seen is that he was asked if he would consider being in the mix. He said NO. End of story, for me anyway.

He increased spending on RU and got the funding for the RAC renovations, for starters.

Where was:

- RU football
- RU MBB
- RU UNSWR ranking
- RU budget

in 2017 versus today? He had a hand in all of it.

How much of this back and forth happened with GS though (as an example)...if his name is floated it's probably for a reason. Could be he's interested or could be he isn't, but he would be a good choice. A lot of other govs successfully made the transition and he was the first gov I can remember that really advocated for RU rather than dismissed us.

2nd cousin once removed maybe. LOL

But he's got the qualifications, did a lot of great things at Alabama, and I'm sure he already has a ton of red clothing
When I opened the link I thought it was Barchi & you were trolling us

Remember when Schiano was hired. Remember what he did vs what Christie said.

He has through the years been an advocate for ru football and sports.

And hopefully for a significant period of time.

Folks, your only warning, keep the politics out of it. This thread is focused on Murphy and the search for a RU president.
