OT: Recruiting question

A month or so ago, an NU asst was at a Crown Point game to watch 6'4" jr shooting guard, Sasha Stefanovic. Anyone know if 'Cats are seriously pursuing?

He may get a few more looks this week as Last night in sectional championship vs Valpo, he hit a buzzer beating 3 to send the game into OT. CP went on to beat Valpo in double OT in a great game in front of a packed house.

Last I heard has offers from Evansville, Indiana State and a bunch of Ivy schools.

Update: i heard he was in Evanston for the game Sunday. Didn't hear about an offer yet.

If he commits to Indiana State then Collins may become interested if he de-commits.

IUSox. You sound like a guy who knows Calumet Region basketball. Do you know if this the grandson of George Stefanovic(h), who was a great player at East Chicago Washington and North Carolina State. George, who has gone to his reward was a great guy with a good word on everything mostly basketball and golf. I believe he had a son Lou, who I think played at Indiana State. If it is this kid has good genes. George by the way was a very close friend of former NU great Nick Mantis another ECW legend.

He is the son of Lou and grandson of George.

Yes, he is "big Lou's" son. Lou starred for Merrillville, then Illinois State. Played in Europe after that.

Didn't know about the grandpa at ECW. My dad, a Hammond High guy, did know Mantis and Ray Ragelis, also from NU.

IUSOX actually just looked it up and George Stepanovich was not related to Lou. I'm sure your dad knows of George, also known as Steppo. He was a great player at Washington and NC State

Jeffrey Cat, Good to know that. I think NU would be wise to offer this kid. After all this ECW talk, Ironically, CP plays EC Central this wknd in the Michigan City Regional. ECC is now being coached by ECW great Pete Trgovich once again.
