A very underrated movie and some extremely sexy scenes for the time.
His work was ubiquitous. 135 movies. Dozens of TV roles. I never considered him a great actor, like Brando or Nicholson, but he was solid and I enjoyed his work. Rest in Peace.
Donald Sutherland was superb in this film:

Eye of the Needle.. He was awesome.
I read that Donald Sutherland was never nominated for an Academy Award. That surprised me.
Watched Eye of the Needle tonight. Haven’t seen it since it came out. Holds up well. Suthlerland’s character is ruthless.
One of his pictures that I enjoyed was Ordinary People starring himself with Mary Tyler Moore, Timonthy Hutton and Judd Hirsch. It won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1980.
That was a very difficult role. I recently caught “Don’t Look Now” in a theater and he’s the best thing in the film, a very very difficult role, nailed it. He was a fine actor.
