Saturday (8/2) was the birthday of the late, great Eric Garth Hudson. He was more commonly known as Garth Hudson. He was a founding member, and the keyboardist, organist, accordionist, and saxophonist, for the Hawks. He was with them when they changed their name to the Levon Helm Sextet, still with them when they changed the name to Levon and the Hawks, and still with them when they changed their name to The Band. He went on to become the last surviving member of the group, until he died earlier this year. To celebrate:

Tuesday (8/5) was the birthday of the late, great, Rick Zehringer. He later went by the name Rick Derringer. He was a founding member, guitarist, and lead singer for The Rick Z Combo. He was still ln that role when they changed their name to Rick and the Raiders, and still in that role when they changed their name to The McCoys. After The McCoys disbanded, he had some success as a soloist. To celebrate:
