Whole European team showed up for their week. Not the whole US team showed. They played no competitive golf for a month. Made very poor choices to prepare.

Obviously no provision for that. Maybe spend less time touring Italy &,more time preparing for Ryder and maybe team as a whole would have played better. At the end of the day nobody's wallet was padded or emptied whether they won or not
Agree. Many of DP Tour tournaments before the Ryders Cup were available to the whole team. Go over there and start the bonding process when Europe is the host.
My stupid take was actually your take. I wasn’t saying he made the team because he is on LIV. My point is he would be an auto qualifier if he was the PGA tour. Maybe your expectation of him were low but I considered him too 3 on the US team.
May get killed for this but overall the Ryder is stupid....I've caddied so many Ryder Cup modeled events at the CC's I've caddied at. These guys get in so many arguments & fights with guys they foursome up with every other week besides event. Its comical. It's a fun event. Think Rory went way overboard. All ot is is a pride & charity event

I think all these dudes at the CC's get their rocks off buying matching shirts, shorts & hats for the Friday thru Sun event. It's actually humorous. Some of the caddies got really into it...I'm like bro you are not getting anymore quid for winning Ryder/Pres events. It's just a change of pace for these guys to get away from the same old same old. You get more quid for club championships
They stunk and the matchups were horrible. Ryder cup is all about momentum and crowd hostility. Can’t allow for momentum and the crowd to get hostile.
Sending out those matchups in the morning allowed for all of it to happen and it lead to an avalanche.

Koepka just played twice in the first two days. Instead they send out a sick Fowler Friday morning. Automatic qualifying players weren't good either. Spieth 4 rounds 1 point. Scheffler, Schauffele, Morikawa the same. However your anger and blaming Koepka is illogical and stupid. And JT didn't belong on this team because he didn't earn it but made it because he was friends with Spieth. That didn't work out well for the US at all. But keep blaming Koepka. Europe hasn't lost on home soil in 30 years. If the Euro LIV guys were on the team they still would have won. The US team just sucked.

Went to Rome for a week and was at the course on Friday with 1st tee tickets for Friday AM. Despite the **** kicking, really fun day -- especially in the afternoon watching a few birdies and holes being won in front of us when it looked like the tides were turning in the PM session. Nice course but it was a haul of a walk.
