Bryant ‘Big Country’ Reeves
Shareef Abdur-Rahim

I know those two for sure....was the next one Mike Bibby?

You got the first two. Bibby was in 98. The player drafted in 97 isn't a name that resonates in most people's mind, but he did play in the NBA for 10+ years.

I didn't think Bibby was one-and-done, and I didn't think he left right after Arizona's championship. Kind of figured that one was wrong. Steve Francis was 1999, so it's not him. Damn....this is a tricky one. I'm sure as soon as I hear the name it will come to me.

It wasn't Stromile Swift, was it? I just think he was a few years later.

Nope. Swift was in 2000.

The school he played for is the same school where Dan Dakich was a head coach for 10 years.

He won an NBA championship in 1999.

Sorry guys....busy day early, 36 holes late.

Let’s go to baseball. In the 2001 MLB draft, the Twins selected Joe Mauer with the 1st overall pick. The players selected second and fifth that year were the only other two guys drafted in the first round who became MLB All-Stars....who are they?

Hint....the Cubs and Rangers picked second and fifth, respectively.

Damn. That was easy.

You're up!

Haha. I'm not one who typically follows MLB Drafts, but as an Orioles fan I was really wanting Teixeira to fall to #7. He was a Baltimore native, and he really would have helped the team post-Cal. We ended up taking a pitcher (Chris Smith) who never made it to the big leagues.

Tonight is Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. I'm not a huge hockey fan, but I think now is an appropriate time for an NHL question. Who was the last defender to win the NHL MVP (aka Hart Memorial Trophy)?

Hockey? I just fell asleep.

You're a Minnesota native and you don't follow hockey?

Okay, I was a little worried that this question wouldn't gain much traction. Here's a hint: He won the MVP while playing for one of the two teams that is playing tonight... and he retired 7 years ago.

I'd rather watch paint dry. Hockey is a very niche sport, IMO. Minnesota is often dubbed the state of hockey, but in reality it's the least popular of the four major professional teams in town.

Guessing you don't like the Mighty Ducks movies either?

I'm guessing it almost has to be two teams out east, being that it's 1939. The Giants would have been my first guess, but since they're not the team, then I'll say the Philadelphia Eagles. For the other, how about the Boston Yanks?
