Chuck Howley it is. They did win though. Last second field goal to beat the Cowboys I think. BeerPoisioning is up.

I stand corrected, he was on the losing side with the Cowboys.

Its not right, but I’m going to guess Darren Woodson for the Cowboys. I think he had two INTs vs Neil O’Donnell and the Steelers.

It was Larry Brown, who also happened to get in a cameo appearance on this infamous scene from Married with Children.

BP as a segue to your Indiana questions, 3 parter:

1/What were the YEARS of Bobby Knight's other two nattys?
2/Who were the opponents?
3/Who were the losing coaches?

OFC

I know IU hoops, I got this one... Johnny Orr was Michigan’s coach in ‘76 when IU beat them and Dean was UNC’s coach in ‘81 when IU won as well.

Is BP correct? Let's keep moving. OFC

I’m positive that I’m right without a shadow of a doubt. I live in Indiana, I know more about Hoosier basketball than I ever care to know. In sake of keeping it moving I’m just going to post the next question if that’s cool.

‘03 NBA draft LeBron was selected 1st overall. During his Miami Heat days he had 2 teammates that alongside him formed the “big three” and ironically were both chosen in the ‘03 draft as well. — Who were the 2 teammates and what pick were they both respectively selected?

Man I read an article a while ago.. years ago.. about him marketing himself all the way out. I’m pretty sure the answer is Mountain Dew.

I could be wrong though.

Very, very close.

You got it, BP! Valvano endorsed Mountain Dew some 35+ years ago.

If anyone can find some of those old commercials, please let me know. I have a friend at work that was in one of his commercials and he refuses to let me see it (I think he was maybe 12 or 13 at the time).

I searched Youtube and there appears to be nothing on Youtube and to think I thought you could find anything on Youtube.

If you search up on YouTube for Mountain Dew commercials from the 80s you may be able to find it. I tried looking it up and I can’t find anything tied to Valvano’s name but I saw at least 10 different commercials from the 80s. I didn’t bother looking through them but if you’re bored one day you might find what you’re looking for.

Gimme a sec. and I’ll think up a question.

In 2009 during their conference tournament a college basketball game went through 6 OT periods before someone came out on top. The winner of that game also went into 1 OT period in the following game, which they also won. They ended up losing in the conference championship game. Also, this conference had 3 #1 seeds in the NCAA tournament that year.

This is a 5-part question, y’all ready?

1— What conference am I referencing?
2— Which 2 teams played the 6OT game?
3— Who won the 6OT game?
4— Who won the conference championship?
5— Which three teams from this conference were #1 seeds in the NCAA tournament?

2. Syracuse/UConn
3. Syracuse won
4. Syracuse lost in the finals... I want to say Louisville won?
5. Louisville, Pittsburgh, UConn

We could go back n’ forth on hoops questions all day lol. You’re right bro.

I'm okay with that! One more basketball question for now. In the last 50 years of the championship game of the NCAA Tournament, only 4 games have gone to overtime. Obviously, Virginia and Texas Tech from this past year is one of them. What schools played in the other three overtime title games?

In 2008 Kansas defeated Memphis that one is obvious to me because the Tigers couldn't make a free throw and the Jayhawks got hot from 3 to send the game into overtime.

In 1997 Arizona defeated Kentucky, definitely remember that game because I let a lot of Kentucky fans have it! Miles Simon was a beast the entire tournament and led the Wildcats to the National Championship.

In 1989 Michigan defeated Seton Hall on a pair of free throws from Rumeal Robinson. Also Steve Fisher took over prior to the start of the NCAA tournament when Bill Frieder verbally agreed to become the next head coach at Arizona State.
