Amen on that buddy!! Yesterday we discussed the first ACC ROOKIE OF YEAR AWARD WINNER, '76, Jim Spanarkel. In only the award's 2ND YEAR OF EXISTENCE,'77, there was an actual Tie for the honors.
Mike Gminski of Duke won a share of the award. Who did G-Man share the honor with? I need name and school.... OFC
I've been waiting for one of you to step in. I like trying to answer questions also. The answer is the man that once ask why he had such a great senior year after a sub par junior year said this. My high school coach said if you hoot with the owls at night you can't soar with the Eagles in the morning, so I quit hooting with the owls at night. That player is Hawkeye Whitney. OFC

Baltimore Dunbar, a neighborhood public school, made up of neighborhood kids, was a consistent pipeline to division 1 basketball as well. Their most famous team had 2 seniors and 3 juniors who all got drafted by the NBA on it. Generally considered the "greatest high school team of all time." ( Gary Grahmn went to UNLV, but did not make his NBA team after being drafted in the 6th round, being the odd man from that legendary group).
Who were Grahmn's other 4 teammates from the legendary Dunbar Poets who went on to various levels of success in college, as well as in the NBA?

Reggie Lewis & David Wingate are correct.
One of the other 2 played with Wingate on Georgetown's championship team, and the other became an icon in the NBA during his long career after leaving as 1st team all-ACC, and holding the all-time assists and steals records for the ACC upon his graduation.

The last was the biggest star in college( 1st team all-American Big East Player of the Year from G'town), I'm pretty sure he was the highest draft pick of the Dunbar teammates (Clippers, top 5??)

I don't think it was Anthony Jones, I'm pretty sure he was from West Virginia and was at least somewhat of a disappointment.
Kind of surprised this is the one most forgotten. He was a high impact freshman scoring 19 in their Championship win over Houston. Two time 1st team all Big East and his senior year as Big East player of the year, John Thompson dubbed that years team "Reggie and the miracles" as they rode him to the elite 8.
Very quiet guy though. Long non descript NBA career with many teams after being the #4 overall pick by the Clippers.

He is the correct. Williams, Wingate, Bouges, and Lewis all went from growing up in the same couple of blocks to the NBA together.
