Switch to college basketball. What coach is known for saying he only wanted to recruit kids in which their sidewalks had cracks in them?
He also won a title.

Hank Raymonds (spelling?) He recruited one of my father's players, Marquette didn't get him when he left and Majerus us came in.

I sat at a bar in Southern Pines and had great conversation with #55 Gary Rosenberger sometime around 1995.

Small lefty guard.

Al McGuire was a great coach and just as good if not better announcer.

He beat dean smith in his own back yard. That in itself makes him great. OFC

Duke exacted legendary revenge knocking off UNLV in the final 4 on their way to the crown after a lopsided defeat in the Championship game the previous year.

UNLV rolled over everyone throughout the entire tournament in their Championship season, with the exception of one team. Who went toe to toe with UNLV taking them right down to the wire, eventually losing by only 2 points in the sweet 16?

Someone is going to get this and my bet is on dukiejay. Until he gets off the golf course I'm gonna swag it. My next guess is Indiana. OFC

Not Indiana, but that is very close.

They had the ball down 2, backup point guard had a 3 point look at the top of the key with 3 seconds left, he decided to dribble in an attempt a lob for an alley oop, it was deflected and fell harmlessly as time expired.

This HoF pitcher won the Cy Young Award TWICE in the 70s. This is unique in fact he won one in the AL and one in the NL. Can you name him?

Pete Rose is the only player since Joe DiMaggio's legendary 56 game hitting streak to even reach 40 straight, when he hit in 44 straight back in the 70's.

Since Rose's 44, who has came the closest to Joe D., getting his streak all the way up to an impressive 39 games, before taking the collar.
