Once again, there's nothing anybody can do on Mac that someone can't do on a PC and in the same amount of time. There's no inherent advantage (or disadvantage) to a Mac or a PC. They are built of the same stuff, and function the same way. There's no inherent difference in the hardware longevity. Neither one is better or worse.

The only difference is the user experience approach chosen by the two different OS UX designers. And while there are real differences there, both are excellent UXs that work perfectly well. Some people prefer the Apple approach. Some people prefer the Windows approach. For seemingly most people, it's a strong preference.

But it's a personal preference for one vs the other, NOT an inherent advantage/disadvantage for either one.

Its 2024 and a lot of games still wont work on Mac. Cyberpunk, Red Dead Redemption 2 are some although some unsupported games geeks have been able to rig for hitchy play. Upgrading Mac hardware is a headache. Stuff is often integrated/soldered in. That "wall garden" approach of Apple's is like a prison. People who do some basic computer things are happy with the Mac prison but you CAN do a lot more and cheaper on a PC. Good luck upgrading a CPU on a iMac.

In general I find Macs work best for women who don't work on hardware. For guys who game/tinker a PC is a must. But a lot of girls are gamers and they are on PC too. I don't think I've ever even seen an iMac on Twitch

Game vendors target Windows for a few different reasons, as you probably know. The largest reason being Window's market-share dominance and the much more configurable nature of Windows PCs. Due to those things, there is a vastly larger ecosystem of gaming hardware available for PCs versus Macs.

That would be difficult, if not impossible for Apple to change.

But again, this isn't an inherent advantage for PCs versus Macs. It's a choice made by the various companies that sell the hardware. PC vendors can and do sell some PCs that are more Mac-like in how locked down the OS is out of the box, and how little extensibility is provided due to their choice of motherboard and other internal components.

You can do things more easily on a MAC than you can a PC. For instance sharing photos and files across Apple devices is seamless as long as you enable the functionality.

Total nonsense. I can always effortlessly and seamlessly share photos and files with other people regardless of what modern operating system I'm using.

How? Apple users do so automatically via iCloud. How would you share photos from your mobile device to your pc automatically, once you take the photo?

From an IT perspective, we absolutely hate managing Apple products. And if the user has always used a Windows OS, they may hate learning how a Mac's OS works. Plus, price wise a Mac is generally more expensive.

Microsoft Cloud and others

A lot of Apple users dont 'realize than all their photos go up to iCloud if they don't have their settings properly adjusted. That's how all those celeb nudes come out - they have iCloud. I assume Apple has the largest collection of dirty pics in the world.

I disagree. The OP sounds like the type of person who doesn't want to spend more than $800 on his personal computer. You get a lot more bang from your buck spending $800 on a PC from Microcenter or Cyberpower than you do spending $800 on a Mac.

Mac owners are sort of like Tesla owners. If you own a Tesla and are happy with it, that is great for you. But that doesn't make Tesla a better choice for EVERYONE.
The OP spent wellover $1000, and she is a she.
