Never been in the military. I came within 1 of the Viet Nam lottery. My Dad was Army Signal Corps in WWII. This just was suggested by YouTube.

Add Toy Caldwell to that group.
In the late 1960s, four of the Marshall Tucker Band members served in the US military;[9][10][11] Toy Caldwell served in the Marine Corps and received a Purple Heart after being wounded in Vietnam.[12]

My number was lucky 13 on the draft lottery when Nixon ended the draft which changed my life for sure. My brother was a bad *** and served 3 tours in Viet Nam as a Platoon Sgt.

Served in Army and spent 1.5 years in Korea in early 60s (before Viet Nam) started.
