Right now he's moved up 3 spots to 20th in the FedEx Cup standings. He's in a 10 player tie for 8th (-10), 4 strokes out of 1st. All in all, there 23 within 5 strokes of the lead.

As I thought he'll be paired with Wyndham Clark, going off at 1:00P EDT.

A lot of low scores on the board early today. Chris just birdied first hole.

Kitayama shoots a 60 and is at -17 to lead, at the moment

6-under today through 12 today, 16-under for the tournament, one shot back of the leader.

His 2nd shot on 15 was amazing. Deep rough, 100 yards out with the pin about 12-15 feet on his short side. No problem, he just puts it 1' from the hole lol.

I didn't want to say anything but 18 has been a tough hole for Chris., Looking back to last 3M, prior to today he's put a shot in the water 3 of the 6 times he's played it. Didn't hit the water but he's going to need to scramble to make Par today.

Bogey. Finishes -6 and -16 for the tourney. Currently T7, 2 strokes behind.

Yeah playing the par 5 18th 2-over this week is probably the difference between being where he is now in a logjam versus the outright lead.

Chris tees off Sunday at 1:05 EDT, paired with Sweden's Alex Noren, who has 11 International wins but none on the PGA Tour.

Fun fact: Noren enters Round 4 leading in Fewest Putts per GIR over the 3 Rounds (1.42). Chris is #2 (1.52).

Strange day for Chris. On the 15th he just came up 30 yards short on a 100 yard shot which resulted in a Bogey. I beieve so far he has hit the fairway with every tee shot on Par 4's and 5's which is unusual since he averages 53%. He's just had real issues with poor approach shots, giving him few chances for Birdies. He made a couple but not enough..

Ohhhhhh! lipped out! long putt on 18. Still looking at a nice check.
And projected to be 20th ranked in the FedEx cup.

Phase 1 - Top 70
Phase 2 -Top 50
Championship - Top 30

Just think where he was 3 weeks ago...88th, probably hoping he'd somehow make 70th. He has just raised his career earnings to over $5.6 million, become exempt thru 2027, being seen in a commercial, and already qualified for next year's Masters, The Open, and PGA. Also believe signature events where the Big $ is.

As @ClassOf02v.2 said, rest up. Set sights on the FedEx Cup. Life is good for the young man.

Just read that before the Scottish Open he was 180th or so.. that win moved him up 100 spots in world rankings. Was just trying to find him listed for Wyndham next week and couldn't find him. But Google Chrome AI resilts assures me he is in for some reason... sends mt a link that doesn't list him.

Here's the field. If he played this week he'd be looking at 8 and possibly 9 straight weeks. That's too much to ask.

Wyndham Championship 2025 Golf Leaderboard - PGA TOUR

His world rank is now 26th. For the pro tour the FedEx is the one that really matters. He's 20th. No matter which, he's had a 3 week span most other pros could only dream of with a win and 3 Top 10's overall.

He has to be exhausted. All time heater for the young man. A good run in the playoffs and he will be a serious contender for a Ryder Cup spot.

Can't imagine being in his position.

Look at it from afar knowing you're in the playoffs, you're guaranteed to be on tour thru 2027, qualified for 2026 Majors and signature events, and of course have a load of money in the bank, has to be a load off your shoulders. He can go out there and just play golf.

Yeah he’s had a massive amount of stress lifted off his shoulders thanks to this recent run.

Journeymen out there on the pro tour and on all the other tours really go through a lot. If you’re in the top 100-ish and have a victory to your name in the last 12-18 months, you’re in pretty good shape. But countless other guys are out there scraping by week to week traveling all over the place and not making a ton.

I have someone who works for me who was a highly ranked amateur, won a team national championship in college, and bounced around the Canadian tour and a couple others for a bit. Then he got married, had a couple of kids, and made the decision to pursue a career in the private business sector. His stories are fascinating, but also really show the stresses, especially while trying to start a family. Standing over a 6-8 foot putt when it means a difference of $5k-$10k for your family is tough. That’s what did him in. I’ve played with him a few times and I swear tee-to-green he’s as talented as any pro on tour. It’s the short game & putting — along with the game between the ears — that makes a real difference.

What is the saying in golf… you drive for show but you putt for the dough!
