Richmond was outstanding defensively against St. John's. He helped shut down Luis, Kadary, and the Johnnies point guards.

He's a stronger DeAndre Liggins. I actually wish UK had a player like Billy Richmond. You can put him on someone like Cooper Flagg and he can guard him with high-level competence.

He's going to be one of the best wing defenders in college basketball next season.
I don't disagree with any of that, but his offensive game is really bad. It's hard to play a guy at that position that isn't much of a threat. He may develop that, but I don't see him fitting in with the way our roster wants to play. Can't have a guy like him and Amari out there at the same time.

I'm glad Cal got his player back.

Better than having a player sit on the bench and never play.....

maybe ole' Cal is on to something ?
JUST THINK, We were just a few years off from NIL and Shaedon Sharpe and handlers/co could have been convinced with an NIL package to let him play that one year here. In an alternate universe, How would that have changed Cal's post season success that year and eventual coaching change?

Man, they got 2 injured back this year, that may be more than UK got back in his entire time here.

Outlook for the E8 just went up though. They really do have a lot of talent, just haven't put it together yet. Though I'm still not sold on Richmond at all.
Funny how differently slmeone behaves when they FINALLY realize 5 years too late how much damage they are doing to their own reputation.

It’s quite a statement about Cal’s intelligence that it took until halfway through this season for him to catch on.

I really like Theiro so I'm glad he's able to go. I heard he tore his meniscus, so glad to hear that wasn't true.
What choice did you or anyone have but reading tea leaves and rumors to figure out what might be going on with Thiero? Do we really think the players asked Calipari not to say anything? If not, then Calipari's super-secret approach and (intentional?) misdirection with player injuries was always nonsense. The apologists claimed that HIPPA prevented him from talking about injuries, which was never true and espoused by people who had no real understanding of how the law worked - of course, when has lack of knowledge ever been a hinderance to the loudest and most sure proclaimers of (their) truth.

He actually also reminds me a bit of Kid Gilchrist from our championship team. length and athleticism with a wonky jump shot

Fland is 100 and Thiero must be to be playing.
Richmond made a clutch shot against SJ and scored like 15 points. Mostly slasing and scraping. Those players that get thiers without being the focal point are great to have. Hes been nails on the line also.

The three I hope we get back , well 4, are DJ, Richmond, Knox and Brazile. Z can be replaced or upgraded easily.
I think Fland is gone and Thiero maybe a chance at coming back.

Chicken man fixen to put out some money on next years roster.

There is no way Thiero is coming back. For most of the year he was your best player. Considering he is coming off a knee injury, he really would be making a huge mistake coming back. I think he has clearly demonstrated that he is NBA material.

I think he'll give it try tomorrow night and if he can, probably play a total of 15 minites or so. Apparently, he and Fland both want to try to contribute. We shall see

This. They have the talent of a 1 seed. The question shouldn't be how are they playing this well now. It should be how did they play so bad for so long.
Cal didn't do a great job at the beginning of the year with this team, but this board is really acting like that team wasn't plagued by injuries for like half the year. Davis was a shell of himself while he was recovering from a wrist injury, their front court was very injured and couldn't get into a good rotation, and then Fland was thought to be lost for the year.

Thiero playing is low risk, High reward.

Tech is probably gonna win anyways so I don't see how playing thiero some is a big risk for Arkansas.

This is accurate. If Thiero is available tomorrow, it will be one of only a very few times this season that all scholarship players would be available.

If my memory is correct, Wagner, Knox and Richmond are the only ones that have not missed any games this season due to injuries.

I really like Richmond and Knox and hope they both return, and with NIL money, who knows?

My favorite is Wagner. Sure, he misses layups at times and bricks three point shots occasionally, but he handles the ball really well, plays relentless defense for almost 40 minutes a game and is an extremely likable young man that is really the glue of the team.

I still don't understand why so much hate was thrown at him last season by so many fans.
Me either really, it was more Cal’s fault. He would never take him off the court but he brought Dillingham and Shepard off the bench. Another in a long line of ridiculous things Cal does.

Davis sucked because Cal planted him in the corner to be the invisible guard for some dumb reason. Fland injury forced him to use him correctly.

I think so much of this run is because DJ has been playing great at PG. It has clearly helped them that Fland got injured.

Was DJ one of the guys that was with the former coach when he was marketing players for the NBA and went with him to the Boston Mountain Range?

Surprisingly NOT , I have a take that not many may agree with , only us hoops gurus and Cal haters .. ha ha , anyway I think Adou coming back may mess up Arky's good chemistry and player rotation .. it doesnt take but a grain of sand to mess up the finely oiled Johny C machine . I think Ado plays and plays poorly and Big Bennie's run is over . I hope .

The DJ hate is 90% Coach Cal fault . It’s mainly because he started over two lottery picks . You can sort of justify Rob coming off the bench but the Reed one made no sense at all . All because Cal didn’t want Edwards and Wagner to lose confidence . Starting them made the confidence worse to me. Also Wagner was the youngest player on the team .

Also fans just expected a lot more from DJ offensively . He is a good quiet kid though so I hate he didn’t live up to the hype because he’s never acting cocky even when he was ranked 1. I think he is the only former player that didn’t post about the win on social media after the game .

Because hes a much better player this season , last season he had games , even stretches , where he was just awful . Its wasnt hate , it was anger at losing in general
Yeah this year is honestly how we expected him to play last year with the minutes he received. He was definitely a player I wanted back this year because everyone knew he had talent and the ability if he put it together and he has.

I wouldn’t call him really bad, he had 15 in that game.

Fland's injury was the best thing that happened to Arkansas. If not for his injury, Cal would have kept Fland at the point instead of DJ. DJ is best at dishing the ball and Fland is best at shooting. Clearly, Arkansas started playing better once DJ moved to the point because he is no shooting guard.

I think so as well. It also forced Davis into action because he was playing horrible being Cal’s dreaded figure in the corner only.

Which was like his first good production game that I've seen all year. Only 5 games in double figures. 19 games 4 points or less.
He just started playing a lot the last month really. He was Cal’s typical In for defense only guy most of the year.

An Arkansas blog could not have a more in-depth conversation regarding their basketball program. Y’all ought to go over to their blog and tell them all the scoop on their team.

I heard texas tech Chance McMillan will still be out from his injury and or won't be near 100% at all. 14.1 pts per game.

Calipari getting a break with Adou coming back and texas tech missing their 2nd leading scorer. Not to also mention Williams texas tech also 2nd leading scorer hurt is ankle in the round 32 game, so may not be 100%

Id say Arkansas wins this one.
Cal got all kinds of breaks in his time here and screwed them all up except one

Do you guys remember how Arkansas fans were running their mouths back in the fall before the season began?

Those same fans are drinking themselves to sleep tonight in misery. I love it! Welcome to Calipari Land! 😂

A lot of them are happy about the turnaround and I get that but it sucks because they had everything needed to keep going. Some of them are starting to understand though. No lead is safe and even with all the talent in the world he needs more.

Except for crunch time. Man he was hurting at the end. He should have tried to set someone up though.
It doesn't help either when all four of your teammates just stand there and watch the ball, not doing anything and not even trying to get open.

Pre NIL there is not one single person who logged serious minutes for Arkansas who would be returning for next season. With NIL you may get a couple back. Also....I think Cal feels the heat and will need to win a few years at Arky before he goes into complete cruise control to where he is just a rest stop for HS kids heading to the NBA. I think he actually twists arms to keep players for once in his career.

Fland, Thiero and Knox are gone. If Arky has a mass exodus they are going to be at best UK over the last 4-5 Cal years. Lots of talent, head scratching losses and a lot of early outs.
