I just don't understand how the police can allow car loads of gang bangers to drive the streets late at night without checking them out. I've been pulled over on a couple of occasions after working past midnight. Shouldn't be too difficult to find concealed weapons. This terrible murder should have been prevented.

Hanging out at a club at 4am yes, bad time to be out. Going to get something to eat at 4am, sorry, I just can't cosign on that. I don't give 2 good gd's what time it was, the girl was obeying the law, doing nothing wrong. It is not a CRIME being out at 4am, other than maybe robbing and shooting someone but SHE did not break any laws. Because she was black and out at 4am that is everyone's issue. As reported initially, she was hanging out at the cookout in a crowd of friends. **** popped off between car at cookout and another car at the Waffle House. Sounds like crowd caught in between. Autopsy scheduled for completion this morning. Father and son bond at 5k and convicted felon's set at 12.5k.

It's called the felony murder rule. If you kill someone while committing another felony then you are going to get charged with murder. Self defense won't work for any of these defendants.

It will be more difficult to convict those who didn't fire the fatal shot but I believe they can be charged.
