I have a friend whose father were friends with The Bolo's. I was at his house once while they were visiting. No mask, both had crew cuts and it was definitely them because I could tell by their voices. Before I retired I was in the kitchen cabinet business. One day a man walks into the store. He was about 6'5" or so and had this really square jaw. He introduced himself to me as Robert Remus. I told him no that I thought his real name was Sgt. Slaughter. He just smiled and said that's right. I did go out to his house to measure for designing him a new kitchen. He never bought the kitchen from me but I spent a while at his home.Showed me all of his awards, his action figures, bobble heads and pics of his wrestling friends. Told me some great stories. He lives off one of the local golf courses here. His house is a simple ranch style built probably in the 80's. The reason he lives here is his best friend is former world tag team champion don Kernodle who I have known for over 40 years a way before he started wrestling. Whenever Sgt, would call me a work to discuss his cabinets he would say"this is the Sarge." Great down to earth guy. My son DukeSky85 also met him when my son was in high school. Great story there also and if he sees this post maybe he can tell that story. OFC

Jim Thornton was on at 11;30 or so in the late 50's on WRAL Channel 5 from Raleigh NC. He was a large robust man and it was a 30 minute country music show.
That's about 15 years before my time.
Speaking of wrestling, I worked out at Steamboat's gym in Charlotte in the mid 80's while I was in college. I got to meet Manny Hernandez, Barry Windham, one of the Road Warriors, and of course Ricky Steamboat. They were all super nice guys.
Ricky Steamboat was a great name for a rassler. I remember him being a smallish type but tough as nails.
