I'm very serious thinking about leaving Comcast so who do you recommend and why. Thanks in advance.

YouTube TV, Roku, or whoever?

the biggest problem I have with streamers vs cable, it the back button on the remote. My streamers kinda have one, but it takes 2 clicks, the cable remote, you just hit one and it flips around.
BTW why you leaving Comcast? Price? I called one day and got my bill down $100 per month, which put it in line with the streamers.

The decision is really on internet service provider. Otherwise streaming services are similar. If you love ESPN, Hulu live + is the cable equivalent. That gives you all Disney streaming and the ESPN app.

The best thing about streaming is that you can get an account with each of the services and change month to month fairly easily. So, you can try them out and keep the one you want.

Personally, I’m not a big live TV guy. I watch the news which is essentially free anyway. We get Hulu + live for football season and cancel after the Super Bowl. My wife and daughter will fluctuate between lesser services between the Super Bowl and week 1.

I called and tried that and they did not budge. going to try and cancel and then put it in my wifes name so she's a new customer

I moved to YoutubeTV in August of 2024 (moved over from Directv when the NFL Sunday Ticket moved). There are only a couple of channels that I don't have that I miss from Directv. There are advantages and disadvantages...it is more difficult to channel surf. However, there is unlimited DVR space, so I take full advantage and record everything that's of interest (ie, have every single NFL and college football game this season recorded, so can go back and look at a play if it's brought up somewhere).

I had been with Verizon 5G Wifi for internet, but just made the move back to Comcast/Xfinity a few months ago. Just taking advantage of promos, and will move again when they run out and someone else offers me something good.

Overall, I'm paying less today than I did a few years ago even when you take into account all of the streaming services (YTV, Netflix, Amazon, Paramount+, ESPN+, Peacock, etc). Glad I made the switch to streaming.

YouTube TV, streamed on 10 TV's in the house and an outdoor pavilion. Xfinity internet. My only issue is WiFi coverage to a few devices that get spotty signal, but I am in the process of adding a new router, switch and an additional access point. Should clean things up.

I have DirecTV stream. it works just like cable. A little cheaper but not a whole lot.

The real way to go for cheap seems to be IPTV. There are a lot of sketchy illegal ones, but there are some legal platforms as well. They supposedly get everything and usually you can find stuff for $300 per year or less. I haven't made that jump yet as it seems a little overwhelming to me but I know people that have illegal versions and love it.

Comcast at one house, Empire Access at the other. Both cost more than they are worth, but Comcast is slightly better.

Roku is really just a streaming platfor but you an do some local stuff. Who are you using to provide the internet? Also YoutubeTV is fighting with Disney right now and as of today ESPN, ABC, FX...are currently all dark.

I found calling does nothing. I would go to the closest Xfinity store. Also I think it might work on address and not who's name its in but not sure. You can try bundling. I moved my cell phone from Verizon to Xfinity and the savings has been substantial for the first year and no difference in quality or connection issues.

YouTube TV with an Apple TV interface is the best set up I have ever used; they both work so intuitively and simple. Hulu on a Roku was hell on earth in comparison.

The YouTube TV contract disputes with the content providers is becoming a problem though. I only watch football on TV so losing ABC/ESPN today got my attention. Fox Sports was threatening the same thing up to the day before CFB kicked off this year. YouTube argues they are trying to keep the price down for subscribers, content providers argue they are not getting enough to provide top products. I have no loyalty whatsoever to any corporate megaliths so if they don't settle pronto, I'm switching to a streamer that provides the content I want. Like tonight.

I will continue to use Comcast for WiFi Internet only. I don't mind streaming at this point so long as I can get most of the college football games as I do now.

Comcast for Internet around $53/mo, Hulu Live / Disney+ for about $90/mo, versus over $200/mo easily for Comcast Xfinity.
I pay comcast $231.00 a month for home phone (which no one needs today) internet service and 2 TV hookups with a limited TV package. My daughter has YouTube TV and a couple streaming sites and pays significantly less.

I know Comcast is pricey but that seems really high to me.
I have their Internet and cell phone package and the higher speed service and it's, roughly, $90 a month.
I was surprised that when I moved from Baltimore to Las Cruces that Xfinity/comcast is about $45 a month cheaper here. 🤷‍♂️

I would still go to an Xfinity store and talk to them. Their call center is one of Dante's levels of hell. You should have seen what I went through trying to cancel my service in Bmore and move it to Las Cruces. I couldn't convince the 3 possibly 4 people I talked to that NM was indeed part of the US. But then I shouldn't have expected "Randy" and "Becky" from India to know that.
Also I think I'm saving $10 a month with paperless and auto billing.

Comcast/Xfinity support is by far the worst experience with a service provider we've ever had. Support has been off shored and you cannot get a US based customer care rep when you call in. Countless times I have asked to speak to someone in the US but they always route you to somewhere in india where the agent has been trained poorly, doesn't listen and doesn't attempt to assist beyond the very bare minimum

If you live where we do, you rely on home phone when the power goes out. Cell service out our way sucks so it’s helpful to have a landline for emergencies. Not everyone e lives in suburbia

Don't even bother calling them with a billing issue. Their first tactic is to try and up-sell you some other service that you don't currently have. Then they say that they'll log this as an investigation that will take 5-7 business days for the billing department to "research". Fifteen min later you'll get a auto-generated email from them saying that after an investigation your claim has been denied.

Xfinity is a criminal organization masquerading as a technology/entertainment service provider

The networks know that live sports is one of the biggest drivers for live TV subscribers anymore. They intentionally set up these contracts to terminate around football season to apply maximum negotiating leverage. In all likelihood the current dispute with ABC/ESPN will be resolved in a few days at the most.

Do you have battery back up? It doesnt work like the old twisted pair POTS service where the phone got power from the twisted pair.

Comcast makes you take the phone because of a legacy FCC subsidy they get for every phone line.

Youtube TV on Roku has a one button last channel feature. Just hold the "OK" button briefly and when released it goes to the prior channel.
