This isn't meant to incite, although my fear is that it may be misconstrued, so please keep that in mind.

Now...

Why is it that we as a population jump to the conclusion that a white on black crime defaults to racism? Talking about the Floyd case here. Horrible yes, but was it racist? I really don't know but that's what the media tells me to believe.

We don't do that in the reverse right? I mean when anyone of color kills a Caucasian it's just a regular crime right? Never talks is racism in the media when that happens.

Am I being a completely insensitive knuckle dragger here or are we predisposed to making that leap?

If I'm right, are we doing a disservice to not only fairness, but also pandering to those who would divide us based on race too?

My gosh, what ever happened to us all being Americans anyway?

It's the default setting for liberals meant to incite. It's murder whether it's white on black or black on white.

Because the 10% of the population that are on the far left and far right are evil. The next 50% are the left and right that are too polarized to think straight and default to their "side's" media. And the 40% in the middle left and middle right have their voices get drowned out by social media, news feeds, and political rhetoric that are dominated by bots and similar funded by the extreme right and left.

What was done was without a doubt a white on black crime. That said every single one of my friends condemned it and called for murder charges from the moment it happened. Right wing left wing, white, black, Hispanic. Even those who back the police 100 percent of the time. It was 100 percent call for charges. We were in unity and agreement. Since that time the complete opposite has happened. Now we have agents of ANTIFA. A lot of young white men in their 20’s are inciting these riots. The biggest racist are them become the homes and business being destroyed are largely minority businesses. The jobs being lost are largely minority jobs. Thankfully since they will soon be classified as terrorist we will now be able to use the FBI CIA NSA to target the workers to get to the leaders. Once the leaders are found I pray OSama Bin Ladin had a better last day then what we have for them.

I know the media loves to paint the picture as it being a racist issue. Me I see it as an injustice and unnecessary killing of an individual.

As far as being a racist act you will need to ask the individuals involved in the murder of George Floyd.

1. Yes we live in a world where everyone can cast their opinions without facts within 15 seconds of seeing something they “think” they know.

2. Yes their are racist cops who profile innocent black residents and that needs to stop. How is the question I can’t answer...
Was this guy racist? His wife awfully quick to divorce him but going through text messages will tell you the answer in the long run. A few ruin the good most want to do...

3. Yes Someone is paying people to protest and to loot which is disgusting.

4. Yes there needs to be race dialogue to see what can be done

5. Yes the media have agendas

6. Push on being insensitive just now is not the best time to bring it up maybe ...

And joe Biden says shoot them in the leg if they come at you with a knife... because you have time to think well I’m going to shoot this guy in the leg as he’s rushing me with something to kill me with. He can’t throw a knife at my vital organs...

I don’t care if you are rep. Dem. Ind. lib. I still like you all but he’s something else

Look.

What happened to George Floyd was terrible and I hope that the right justice is brought to the right person(s) involved.

I’m also not on the boat that cops hate minorites. I honestly don’t know what to think. But to be honest, who can you trust? I’ve had to put faith In the same government who I wouldn’t trust to feed my cows.

And now there’s a giant racial divide that’s been boiling since the Rodney King incident.

Here’s the kicker; people are so dumb they’ll believe any video, photo that portrays to their bias.

I’ve lost faith in American leadership. I’m close to deleting my Twitter and just being a full time Blue Lotter.

The black community has been telling us way before Rodney King beating that “we” have a problem but we refuse to listen and take action. We just kick the can down the street.

Was it murder? It sure appears to be murder.
It was racial.
The guy just tripped a circuit breaker. These guys see just totally crazy crap all day long in the metropolitan areas and a disproportionate amount is in minority areas. He snapped and killed a guy. Cops are a different
Kind anyway. We need them but
They are ticking time bombs.

Just to be clear, I’m as indifferent towards what occurs in black communities as I am towards what occurs in trailer parks and the pill addicts in the hills of WV. Just fvcking behave, all of you, white, black, Asian, or Hispanic. George Floyd shouldn’t be dead right now. He just shouldn’t. He also shouldn’t have been using counterfeit money.

Stop breaking the law, ********! It’s really pretty simple. This dude was all hopped on Meth, fentanyl, and breaking the law. I’m still on his side in this, but if this dumb **** wouldn’t have been breaking the law he’d still be alive. If you can’t accept that reality, your perspective is fvcked and we don’t have a conversation to have.

Moreover, before you come bitching to me about your problems, police your own. 1000s of Black on black murders every year. Stop. Take the communities back from lawless thugs. Or don’t. I don’t much care. I can guarandamntee you though, if you don’t care, I don’t care. No different than crackerassed pill addicts. If it were up to me, we’d pull the Narcan out of the hospitals and let’s these savages snort their problems away.

It’s not insensitive in any way. It’s logical. It doesn’t mean that those crimes are never racially driven but they most certainly are not ALWAYS racially driven. I’ve seen white cops treat white men the same way and I’ve seen black cops treat white and black men the same way (obviously not to the point of death but overtly abusing their power). It’s a case of CERTAIN officers overstepping their bounds. And in the George Floyd case going WAAAY too far. Though everything about that video seemed odd to me. It was almost TOO disgusting and obtuse to be real. No one checks pulse, no one speaks to each other amongst the cops, etc etc... but that’s a moot point in THIS conversation. As Airport said, unfortunately it’s an opportunity for the extreme leftists to push their agenda. The highest percentage of police related deaths are white. Upwards of 80%. Murder happens, to all races, by all races. Murder doesn’t necessarily = racism.... unless it powers someone’s political agenda. And quite frankly it does harm to the real cases of racism in this country.

I’m happy to have conversations about this stuff. Conversations are what’s needed. Honesty amongst all of us is what’s needed. The bottom line for me is you’re either working to make yourself better and the country more prosperous or you’re working against it. This is one area where I see no middle ground. If you’re out there breaking the law, it’s really hard for me to have empathy for you, regardless of what occurs as result.

Do I agree the minority community is unfairly treated by police and unfairly targeted? Yes. Can you agree there is a crime problem in lower socioeconomic communities, predominantly minority communities, which serves to embolden the stereotypes?

To be clear, I’ve lived all over the country, from SoCal, to AZ, and Baltimore, so it’s not like I’m approaching this from a place of ignorance. I’ve been in Baltimore for 15 years. I see it all, everyday. I’ve also travelled all over the world, and not the privileged white people backpacking through Europe ****. I’ve seen it all.

I believe now more than ever, it will be very difficult To be an officer of the law. All eyes will be on them, and any little incident that occurs the first thing that gets spread tf all over Twitter is “Racist cops harass unarmed black man.”

The most ridiculous thing now is they expect some random white person to apologize for.. being white. Look. I can’t help what my ancestors did, or presumably didn’t do. I don’t know what they did. All I know is my person had nothing to do with it. I’m human and so are the other 7 billion people who roam Earth.

I’d encourage all those protesting to take a look at their God awful ****** communities in Chicago, Detroit and Baltimore. You talk about racist cops, I’d say the new high in homicides over Memorial Day weekend would like a word.

Honest question(s). What do you disagree with? Tone? What would you do differently? What should be tried that hasn't been tried yet? What are the new ideas?

As for narcan, yeah the easy, non-compassionate, tempting answer is to let it be a self correcting problem. But it's more complicated than that too. Or maybe its not.

What law did he break?
It’s reported he was attempting to use or used counterfeit money based on the store owner’s call to the police. It was also clear in the video that he was resisting when the first set of officers attempted to remove him from the car. What happened next you can’t see. It looks like a struggle, which again, would be resisting.

As I said, I’m on Floyd’s side and his death was needless, I also believe the cop should’ve been fired, and charged. He was. That’s the system working.

Honest question, do you think it’s ok to resist? To use counterfeit money? Worthy of arrest?

I have so much empathy for all living things. I always have. But what did he say that isn’t true

His view/answer is unrealistically simple and frankly lazy. There are so many things intertwined in this societal mess that it’s not as simple as “blacks stop killing blacks.” You’re dealing with decades of physiological issues, police brutality, government oppression, poverty and other issues that have continually plagued many communities. Layers upon layers need peeled back to truly address issues. So no, it’s not as simple as “stop killing each other.”

it's learned behavior, part of being human, and it's cultural.

this same method of forming assumptions occurs in every culture. We just happen to have a culture where thinking and responding is shaped by many variables. What your parents teach you, what schools teach you, and what culture as a whole teaches. Your then world view, devoid of critical thinking, leads to making assumptions. It's learned.

You understand what you’re calling contributing factors are perceived as just excuses for behavior? I’m not disputing any of what you’re saying. I 100% agree with you. So, address them and fix it. Me pointing to the issues plaguing that part of society and explaining to you it drives my indifference should be wake up call. You can march, protest, pass out buttons, etc. telling me black lives matter. I agree with you that they do and they should. Now do something constructive to fix those issues and prove to me you have conviction behind your position. Once you prove to me you care, then I’ll start caring. Demanding I care isn’t going to work. Trying to shame me into caring isn’t going to work. Calling me a racist unless I agree with you ends the conversation.

Excuses, excuses. People have the ability to improve their lot here. If you want to blame something, blame govt for all the free assistance they give and compound the problem by giving more with the increased number of kids born out of wedlock. Govt wants them in that situation.

Okay, the “do something about it” part, I agree. What about communities that don’t have the resources to “do something about it.” Doing something about it could be voting, better education, investment in community projects etc. so yes, agree standing around and expecting something to magically happen isn’t the answer, however, when some communities do not have the resources or ability, it’s just a continuing cycle. Things getting better takes people like you to give a damn and invest in these communities.

Do you think it would be beneficial to help with solutions, whether it’s investing time, money etc. instead of just saying, “you need to do this.”? If you don’t (and most don’t), then I don’t think your opinion holds much weight. If you’re out there fighting the fight and donating your time/money to community centers or youth programs or anything like that then salute.
