OTD 1970: How to dispose of a whale carcass

While in Nantucket this past summer we watched a video at the whaling museum of how sperm whales were brought on deck and harvested. There was basically nothing left of them.
This is why I tell my daughter at every opportunity - boys are fundamentally stupid, will be that way until about 25, and then never completely grow out of it.
It's a classic video. My favorite part is when the reporter mentions how the seagulls were nowhere in sight to help clean up the mess after the explosion.
What advice would expect from the Navy? We blow s h i t up, that's the job.

I’m so thankful you posted this. About 3 hours ago I spotted a dead sperm whale in my back yard and the local Government was no help. They referred me to the State Government which was again useless. Thanks to you I’m presently removing gunpowder from 5,000 45 cal rounds which I hope will do the trick. I was saving them for a (well that’s better left unsaid) different scenario.
Please be sure to buy ear protection. It’s one of those things you forget about but constantly regret not doing.
