As someone who lived in Jersey for many years, if you were only going a little over the speed limit you were granny driving. I had my BMW 335i at 105 mph coming home from the OBX with my Mom in the passenger seat and she said "why are people passing us Mark"?

Yup. Montreal is crazy that way as well. By far the worst 'urban speedup' I've seen but then I didn't give NJTP a chance, did I?

I've only driven over 100-mph once - over a 20-mile straightaway in Minnesota. I rearranged a prairie chicken into a cloud of feathers that day with my AMC Hornet station wagon.

Driving 100 in an AMC Hornet would scare the piss out of me. You are a brave man.

I disliked AMC cars as a kid, but it was actually pretty reliable until the back hatch completely snapped off during a 20-below zero cold snap.

Speed limit in Canada is 100, so it's ok.

AMC Hornet? You fit in that thing? My memories of the old AMC cars are that they were all pretty little vehicles. Definitely not built for us big folk. I bet their engineers were all Japanese dudes.

It was a station wagon. I don't recall having any issues fitting into the car. I thought AMC cars were ugly but who's complaining when your parents buy it for you.
