UCLA is impressive. Cronin is a great coach. They lost their best player to injury and their top 25 point guard opted for the G league. Yet they are in the Elite 8.

Brilliant free throw defense by UCLA. If they can keep that up, watch out!
It worked for Jim Valvano 38 years ago. There needs to be more of a reward for getting fouled. Maybe 3 shots on every foul or one point plus possession. Even when I coached AAU, I had subs who were in the game just to foul the entire second half. I regret it now. It wasn't good sportsmanship. But it worked

My AAU teams had an abundance of scorers. I guess that I was more Jim Boeheim than Bob Knight. We wanted the ball back. We didn't foul the 80% players. EVER. All 15 year old teams had at least one player who didn't want to go to the line late. And there was no double bonus. Our games sometimes lasted longer than Big12 football games

Refs in the Baylor/Uconn women's game just screwed the Baylor women. Missed an obvious foul call at the end. Can't stand Geno. Feel bad for the Lady Bears.

This Oregon State/Houston game has turned into a good one.

Baylor is so damn good on both ends of the floor. I love the way they play defense. Their length really disrupts the passing lanes. Hopefully we get a Baylor/Zags national title game. I think that would be one helluva game. Of course, the Zags might have their hands full with USC tomorrow. They play a really fun style of basketball!

Houston, I think you were a little hard on the Beaver. Seriously great year from OSU. Their fans are having a once in a lifetime Elite Eight run (they may have made the Final Four in the early 80's) and we complain about back to back Elite Eights.

That wasn't a missed call, that was a straight up swallowed whistle. Ref should not be refereeing if they are gonna pull that crap.

Or maybe they are just good.

Definitely looks like Pac 12 is the best conference this year, but UCLA had no business winning that game. Alabama wins that game fairly easily if they just make a free throw or two. That game is going to linger with them for awhile I'd say.

I'm really impressed with the size and toughness of the teams left in the tournament. Duke's guys look so small and young compared to them. Even Coleman is big but not as long.

And the offenses have so much motion! Constant ball and player movement. That seems to be the ticket to success right now. Not individual NBA type stuff.

I'm enjoying the tournament much more than I thought I would. Not having much of a rooting interest makes it much easier to relax.

I thought the same Liftee. Gosh these teams all seem HUGE at all positions. Lots of upperclassmen makes a difference I suppose.

There were a lot of blown calls and swallowed whistles throughout the game. This one stands out because it was at the end of the game but the bad calls were pretty evenly spread out. I thought it was bad form for Carrington to have tweeted her complaint with the officiating. Baylor got a huge break when the refs put Edwards on the bench with those two earlier foul calls.

Could not agree more. Those teams seemed a lot quicker and deeper than Duke and , yes, I will say it, better coached. We need a lot to get to their levels next year, especially at the PG position. OFC

On an unrelated note (I did not want to start a new topic for this) did anyone see UA's online ad for women's month. Mark Alarie's daughter is one of the athletes modeling clothings. She looks just like Mark.

The first half of Baylor/Arkansas was absolutely breathtaking - Baylor was in overdrive in the first part of the half and exceptional on the offense end playing team basketball, the response and efficiency from Arkansas kept them in the game - it was great to watch as a neutral and tinged with a lot of envy as a Duke CBB fan.

I really hope we get a Gonzaga/Baylor national championship game.
I’m not rooting for Gonzaga. I’m not Zag hater I’m just not on their bandwagon this year. Their players are acting real cocky for a team that plays in such a weak conference

I hope they win. I like their confidence on the floor. I'll give you that their conference isn't the strongest, save for BYU this year, but they also dominated everyone in the WCC this season. And they've dominated everyone they have played this year but WVU. They're just so damn fun to watch. Of course, that's my opinion.

Me neither.

Gonzaga has a legit chance to dethrone us as the premier program in America. It would take more than one national championship of course but the potential is there. Their recruiting has been improving and who knows what kind of bump they could get if they finally cut down the nets.

Obviously I'm not saying they're anywhere close to us historically but in contemporary terms they're trending in a really good direction.

The Zaga ain’t got the following Duke has. Besides, if they keep winning, they’ll become hated

Neither did we at one time.

That's why I said potential. I'm sorry but the ingredients, so to speak, are there.

Ultimately I don't think it'll happen. But it could.

Concerned about Michigan too, frankly. I think they've got 3 McDonald's boys coming in next year.

They're one of the few teams I'd be okay with sharing the spotlight with. Few is a good dude. I think K and Duke will be back on top next season. The haters will be in full force come this time next season.

Also, anyone else notice the shots at the officiating of the Zags/Carolina championship from '17 by the game day crew after the game and Dan Bonner during the game?
