Penn. St. stomped Ohio State. Only win was Mendez teching Davis. Penn. St pulled off 3 overtime wins, Lilledahl, Blaze, and Mirasola. Then Welsh scored 2 takedowns in less than a minute to beat Fishback with Fishback floundering a like fish on the beach. Stunning how they win such a high percentage of close matches. Being Penn. St I believe many wrestlers are intimidated against them and they have unbelievable self- confidence.
I can't believe that any OSU fan would use that moniker on this or any site. F... Ohio State, everyone in wrestling knows who the real OSU is.

It appears the Big Tens seeding isn’t going over well.
A couple of those seeds don’t make any sense at all, 174 in particular. I don’t think it’s going to matter for Penn State. I’m interested to see how Iowa does. I think they may finish 5th or 6th in the BIG tournament.
They made a bad formula and didn't properly test it before implementing it. Carter Young is 4th nationally and has the 5 seed in his conference. The upshot is the tournament will be more interesting

wonder why he did not go up to 149 here and try to beat swiderski? just curious. He just seems like a great kid and wish him success. seems a little odd to transfer from OSU to Maryland and then be ranked #4 at 149 ahead of swiderski.

Carter is an awesome young man from an amazing family and I wish him nothing but the best. Now as far as rankings, I glanced at Wrestlestat and unless I missed something, Carter has 1 top 10 win over a guy who also has 1 top 10 win.
I like wrestle stat rankings more often than I don’t. It isn’t perfect by any means but they have him at 8 and I think that’s more accurate. Guess we will find out over the next few weeks regardless!
Lucas Byrd just got upset by Blake Boarman from Purdue in the Big Ten quarterfinals
It was so frustrating that Block of Iowa had Van Ness beat in the semi's but lost 5 to 4 to Van Ness giving up 4 stalling points. Block who usually is tough and in great shape could hardly stand up and with seconds left Block just backed up to the edge of the mat, somehow could not circle or have a good shot the leg and gets a 2 point stalling call to lose. I was really pulling for Block. Also he just missed a takedown 30 seconds before where Block had both legs near out of bounds for split second and then lost the second leg and of course the call goes Penn. St way.
Bad move by Tom not challenging that td. Even if they didn't overturn the call it would've given Block a chance to catch his wind.
That's what can happen to a defensive wrestler like Byrd. When you wrestle close matches all the time sometimes you get caught.
Home cooking. Rocco welsh took 0 legit shots till like 20 seconds remaining in OT. Ferrari was in deep 2-3 times. Rocco just flew to the mat edge. No stalls.
I hate Ferrari style of wrestling. But he was robbed. And the refs didn’t give escape early when Ferrari was out in 2nd OT too.
Edit: There apparently was 2 singlet pulls by Rocco. lol.

I hate these kind of "look at me, I know you something you don't" tweets so very very much. I get a visceral reaction that cannot be logically explained. They are just so cynical. He is obviously under a media embargo and can't say what it is, but the thirst for likes, re-tweets, follows is so great that he cannot not let us know he knows and we don't. Hate, hate, hate it.
Interesting, I'm betting Nick Feldman is one of those higher weights from Ohio State asking for big dollars. I'm sure PSU will ask him to come there for a year to maximize their points.
Came across this and if the really do go out and get someone at heavy then that would make some sense. Would think both mirasolas portal if they do that.
