It appears that Arkansas, Auburn and Ole Miss are competing for Alex Golesh. He took over a South Florida program run into the ground by Jeff Scott (4 wins in 3 years) and went 7-6. 7-6 and 9-3. Florida looks like they will hire Jon Sumrall, who in 4 years at two different schools, went 42-11.

We, on the other hand, are stuck with someone who basically is a cheerleader (not that there is anything wrong with that). But he is not a strategist nor a tactician, which is what good coaches are. Here we are in Beamer's 5th season. Only Arkansas has a worse SEC record (Sam Pittman, hired one year before Beamer, like Shane, never had been either an OC or DC nor a Head Coach: Pittman was fired in mid-season). We are tied with Auburn and Mississippi State at only 1 SEC win. Auburn fired Hugh Freeze in mid-season. Jeff Lebby is only in his 2nd season at Mississippi State. Being a Head Coach at USC is Shane Beamer's only rodeo.

I really, really believe we will fire Beamer in mid-season. I look at the schedule and see Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma, Clemson, Tennessee, Florida, Arkansas, Texas A&M. The schedule is brutal.

We ought to make a move on Beamer now and not waste a year. But, we won't. When Donati hires a new football coach, he will make a serious search and bring in the proven winner we deserve. He hired Sonny Dykes at TCU in 2021. In 4 seasons, TCU has the best overall record of any school in the Big 12. There is absolutely no reason why we should not be competitive in the SEC. In the NIL Collective race, we are ranked in the 18th-22nd region of rankings by the 247 site. We are getting poor coaching. That will change when Beamer is shown the door. I have confidence in Donati. He is a proven Athletic Director and a trained attorney. He is no dumb a$$. This not Jeremiah Donati's first rodeo.
