Sooners favored by 6.5 at home. I haven’t seen Auburn play but Jackson Arnold’s highlights are impressive. Everything considered it should be a good game. I’m picking OU 31-24.

I agree this should be a good game. I am really curious how JA will handle the defensive pressure that OU will bring. AU has not yet faced a really good D this year so….

This will be a 4 quarter game so hopefully OU has no letdown quarter . I am going 24-10 OU.

The reason that JA all that success against Baylor, is because the Bears couldn't stop Auburn's running game. War Eagle dominated them. That gave the easy pickins in the passing game, and Baylor didn't have a chance against studs in the Auburn receiving corps.

Auburn has an outstanding running game. And when they face OUr defense, they'll have a very different challenge this week. They have a chance to have a quality game, especially in the first half, when a great pass rusher can't play. The do have some skill position studs. But I have trouble believing that they're going to be able to run up and down the field against OU's defense. I do believe there's a chance that we might have trouble stopping their passing game. There's a chance that they come out slinging it, and with a lack of pass rush, which can beafactor early in games for us that we try to give so much help in that, that then the run the ball.

That freshman corner might just be the key in this game. He's looking like OUr stud. This might end up being very interesting. How OUr offense does... if we get another Michigan performance from the oline, might lead to a comfortable win, if we could finally win the dang turnover battle.

Our D-line will be the difference. Jackson Arnold will not be given the time to go through his progressions. As a result of the pressure up front, utilizing their talented WR’s will be much more difficult. Not only that, Arnold will be forced to make quick decisions due to our talented front 4. This bodes well for the good guys.

After hearing OUr injury report Tuesday, I'm not sure what to think about this game. OUr first center is gone for the season. OUr starter after the injury was hurt against Temple. And OUr "emergency center" who also happens to be OUr starting right guard was hurt worse. We may have a lightweight (literally) walkon playing a lot against Auburn. We might have to win 3-2. We might have an oline available this Saturday that makes what we saw in a horrible opener, look not so bad, when we couldn't effectively block Illinois St worth a damn. I hope not. And BV claims we'll be all right. A repeat in the OLine of what happened last season in regards to injury, is not what most of us had in mind.

Just a few observations from game.

1. JA missed a couple of wide open receivers that would have been easily two TDs. OU was very fortunate he overthrew both. I think our fanbase realizes things could have been much different.

2. The Defense, we just can’t say enough about this D. Wasn’t perfect but this D is showing Elite status. Thank you BV.

3. Refs were awful both ways for the most part but still trying to figure out why AU fans think it was slighted to OU. Both AU TD drives were aided by bogus calls that kept those drives alive. Lets not forget on JA 4th and long scramble the refs missed a blatnant hold by AU. We all seen it from our seats.

4. Mateer came through when needed but he was far from what we as fans have come to expect from him. He seemed really off in that first half.

5. AU fans were okay outside the young college students who attended. Mouthy as hell. The older fans were fine.

6. The crowd was electric.

7. OU needs a running game. OL struggles against good DL and AU had one. If its not fixed OU could be in trouble against upcoming teams.

8. On social media AU fans are whining left and right. Pretty normal though to ignore the calls that helped them.

Just my observations.

One last thing, the fans really gave JA the love. However I dont think there was any hate. I wish him the best the rest of the way.

JC, this is the first post I've seen you make since all of this message board realignment. Now I haven't been around as much as I was formerly, but it's great to see you. Read you? Hope you're right.
Thanks, Plaino. After realignment, it was gone for a minute. I'm not a fan of the new format. The board seems slower than it was in the past.

Last year was a mess for me. I had a stroke and heart pump put inside of me.
I have this guy put inside of me....

Last year was a good year to miss anyhow. I watched the bowl game from the hospital bed, and I could only laugh when we let the game go.

Strokes range widely. I had two, four years ago, which as strokes go were pretty mild. The second o[[ne messed with my speech enough that I notice it, but most of the time, nobody else does. I have to speak slowly and carefully part of the time, but at 74, I can still work enough to stay engaged at physical labor. Otherwise, it hardly looks like anything happened. But some people have permanent limb damage. I hope your recovery is good. You were missed around here.

You're right. They dynamics of things around here have changed. But the guys that have been here before, some as long as dipping into the 20th centruy, are still here in part, so it's worth the visit. And the site has been gracious enough to let us hang around so far.

I will keep you in my prayers.
