Saw Bob at the Sphere with John Mayer.
I heard someone say Tempo Boys. I thought that it was someone behind me because how clear that it was.
I read a write up on the show and it was Bob, mad that the band was going too fast.

really the soul of the band.

Incredible musician. Jazz informed guitarist who played with nuance and touch. Could also play the blues like no other. All of this while singing too. Was an absolute master of chord voicings and feel. Great sense of humor as a performer, and as a writer had a gift for being able to compose and construction of intricate chord changes, unusual time signatures, and long drawn out passages which were often mistaken for "jamming". He was far, far beyond most of his contemporaries in terms of sheer music knowledge. One time he showed an audience, just for ***** and giggles, 7 different ways to play an "A" on the guitar.

It took me probably 15 to 20 years to actually "get it" as far as what they did as a band, but when the light finally came on, they instantly became one of my favorite bands ever.

Hopefully I didn’t get duped by the internet but it seems to be true. Post your video tributes.

highlighting his guitar skills….

Was really expecting one more sphere run this year. I guess there is Bobby’s on stage premonition of a future when John Mayer and oteil have grey hair still playing backed by young drummers………

Probably my favorite Bobby post-Dead ensamble was the work he did with Wolf Bros...just some cool old heads bustin' out those sweet, sweet tunes.. RIP Bobby, thank you for keeping this amazing music going for as long as you have; I am forever Grateful!!

Saw them Milwaukee river side theater on st Patrick day a couple years ago. Bobby says “if you only come out one night and this is the night then this is what you get” and played whisky in the jar. Great show and great ensemble (noisy audience recording)
