Yeah, Kyle Tucker. Think he used to cover VA Tech a few years ago. He's always seemed to be a genuine guy. We need more of these guys to keep cranking out these "in your face" stories. Probably won't matter though, the damage is done.

Thanks Mitch. Thanks for squandering what may have been a once in a lifetime type opportunity to hire a football coach that could actually win big at Kentucky. The fans, who have endured years of heartache and mediocre football really appreciate it.

You effing FB only punks need to get your facts straight. Cal did NONE of the things those coaches did.

Prove what? That you don't know your *** from a hole in the ground? That you're good at spreading lies?
Prove that we will fight tooth and nail about our basketball program, only see the positives in our players and staff, look at everything from a optimistic view point.
I'm with you - I think Cal gets a bad rap - but you cannot refute the fact that he had baggage and wasn't the "clean" hire. Hell, BCG was a drunk lunatic, but we thought he would win us games. When he didn't, he was quickly show the door. WE DO WHAT WE NEED TO DO TO WIN
However, when it comes to football, now we are Holier-than-thou! No unclean coaches for us. It will be hard to find a squeaky clean proven winner that wants to come here I think. It's a poor excuse and a double std IMO. WE KIND OF WANT TO WIN???

If, and likely when, UL makes the playoffs, the BP hiring at UL will become a feel-good story. How UL gave the guy nobody would touch a second chance .. how BP turned himself around and is about to be at the top of his profession.
Oh the irony. In the resurrected thread, someone had posted that one day UL would be in the playoffs while a 6-6 UK would be in the Liberty Bowl. Part of that sure seems like a pipe dream.

This is spin. BCG was not known to be a drunk lunatic when he was hired. Apples and oranges.
Come on. Telling the truth about Cal is not defending BB tooth and nail. Comparing Cal to the coaches listed is just silly.

I love UK BB but I would trade a NC in BB for an SEC FB championship with a CHANCE to win the NC.
And it's further spin to try and claim it was cheating on his wife and running out on other programs that is why UK didn't take BP. ALL coaches are subject to run out on their programs, just as they are subject to be fired at a moment's notice. Wasn't it Bum Phillips who said "The day a coach is hired, he's fired. The date just hasn't been filled in yet." BP's issue was putting his employer in legal jepoardy. No matter that they ultimately didn't get sued (or that he avoided prosecution).
demonstrably untrue. Petrino was trying to get an interview with anyone in late 2012 - otherwise, he wouldn't have been publicly courting a school he admittedly hates - and no one would talk to him until WKU did. Auburn's AD, I know, wouldn't give him an interview.
I have said the same thing to anyone who will listen. I have tasted UK BB success and I am always jacked for the season. But I would make that trade all day long. Just to play in the SEC CG against a Bama or LSU, win and get to the playoff. Man, it would be something. I'm 47 and have my doubts we will ever win the East in my lifetime...
The season is still young my friend. If Rice and Texas State get just 5% tougher they can overtake us.
Because I think Mitch will take a few minutes to meditate and search his soul, possibly repenting for the transgressions and ten years of plague he has placed on the BBN.
